I think he helped our resume as a key player who was out for key losses and would be returning to the mix for post-season play.

This is a blow to how we play as well as how the committee sees us.

I haven't noticed DJ Jeffries in any NBA mock drafts this year. I assume he'll return for next season. Anybody have better info than me?......that should be easy

I have seen him on a couple of mocks but he probably needed a strong finish to gain any traction.

Hopefully this is not a decision in attempt to hurt draft stock. In no way shape or form do I think DJ is ready for the League, but kids do not always think logically when it comes to this. Who knows which family member or individual could be in his ear. I am sure without a doubt he will dip his toe in the draft waters, but you got to think Penny makes it completely clear that he needs more time.

Last year Darius Garland played 5 games and got picked 5th. Its not exactly an impossible hurdle. Backtracking on one and done could easily be seen as something Penny is saying because he hasnt signed anyone. Thats why I wouldnt just assume that Penny will be able to talk him out of leaving if he had his mind set on that.

Nah, you're starting something out of nothing.
DJ was a 4-start ranked 52 in his class. He was never a guaranteed one+done.
And he got hurt and couldn't finish. No one will have a credible argument that his year with Penny hurt. Actually, most say he looked better than expected.
