I told you Balado was not innocent in this whole deal. And after the Jonesboro loss neither is mahajir. Maybe arkstfan will address that.

Did anyone SAY that either were innocent?

Only one thing matters. There is a conference rule regarding practice the day prior to a conference game. UALR violated the rule and even flaunted the violation. The Walker comment's relevance was only used by the commissioner to reinforce the blatant violation.

Reality is this. Sun Belt rules require members to sponsor 15 conference sports. Right now that rule is "suspended" because one member ain't in compliance and isn't likely to get in compliance. Any UALR fan complaining about getting fined for flaunting a league rule ought to take note that the membership has been quite generous permitting the Trojans to remain in the conference after the rule was used to force UNO and Denver out of the league.

Hey, we broke a rule and we were fined. No problem. I simply pointed out in another thread that players and coaches say things in the heat of the battle and that Balado was not innocent. The demgaz article today pointed that out. Tmo said on the radio walker needs to learn to win with class. Tmo needs to take a long hard look in the mirror.

So, does the league practice rule for day before the game apply if the opponent doesnt even travel until the day of the game?

That answers itself. If you don't go to the location until game day you don't get to complain it wasn't available. Now if you were told it wasn't available and altered your travel plans, that's a different matter.

But what about your AD arkstatefan? Is it common practice for mahajir to follow the opposing coach to the locker room after the game harassing him all the way. Then wait outside the lockerrom and do the same all the way to the media room. Then sit front row and center during the opposing coaches post game interview. Does he do that a lot? Is that professional conduct? Does that live up to Sun Belt standards?

Sun Belt rules require that the visitor be permitted to practice the day prior to the game on the same court that the home team practices on. Despite the wrestling match being scheduled long in advance, no one bothered to let AState know the Jack would be unavailable after 2pm until it was too late.

The cherry on top was the UALR contact person sent a photo of UALR practicing on the main floor when asked how much lead time was required to set up for wrestling.

That was actually my other question "How the heck did ASU know that LR practiced before they arrived in town?". I guess you gave me the answer.

I’m thinking ASU AD used to tell the playground aide in elementary school when he got hit too hard in dodgeball. 03-weeping03-weeping

About half the folks on the ASU board agree that they're being a bunch of babies, and saying "we just need to get a coach that can beat them".

Here's the thing:

1. You guys screwed up. You told us the gym would be unavailable at the last minute, and then practiced on it yourselves and didn't really hide the fact you did so. Walker said some stupid stuff in there which didn't help matters.

2 Considering point 1 is correct, we are well within our rights to complain to the league office, and there is nothing wrong with us doing so.

The problem isn't the complaint on my end. Its simply the fact it is still brought up and talked about weeks later. We've taken the high and mighty road to protect ourselves when anyone with a brain know the only person in the league with a mouth as big as Darrel Walker is Terry Mohajir.

As a fan, Id rather want answers as to how you guys somehow managed to lap us in the major sports despite having far less funding, donations etc. If we want to keep Walker from talking, we'd be better off beating him a few times. That usually does the trick.

Seems like the more relevant question is when were they told it would actually be available. According to ASU officials, they were given this information too late. It is possible that Darrell took his team to practice on the court, under the assumption that ASU would get this information and be able to practice. George Lee said it was simply a miscommunication. I am taking him at his word without proof to the contrary. I don't think Darrell's reported comments, the next day after the game, have anything to do with the facts of what transpired the day before.

When did you find out the floor was not available?

From what I understand, less than 24 hours before we were due to arrive for practice.

If you think he did wrong file a complaint let it be adjudicated. I don't have a clue what he does in basketball because I have been to no more than four hoops games since he became AD and that might be high. Hell I had season tickets comped as compensation for the Miami cancellation and I went to one game.

UALR having an extended power vacuum in leadership is likely the issue.

It's a basic rule, no one else has run afoul of it that I've heard of. Walker's comments no big deal except that the league office perceived it as framing the practice screw up as being a malignant act.

Letting fans sit on the front row of an opposing coaches press conference holding signs is an unprecedented screw up as well.

Wasn't just Mohajir who was unhappy, at least one member of the press notified the conference office of unruly fan behavior disrupting the press conference environment. Not the sort of thing that happens anywhere else but the sort of thing that can happen when you have chancellor turmoil coupled with AD turnover.

I don't think it's an issue of unsportsmanship just an unfortunate collection of poor decisions and situational awareness. Right circumstances align same type of thing could have happened at AState fall of 2012

Like usual, well-thought-out, reasonable assessment. Thanks, AStatefan.

And the AD sitting front and center in the opposing coaches post game interview is not the sort of thing that happens anywhere else either.

Looks like there are 4 SBC schools not in compliance on 15 sport rule.
