74-65 is the final. Keeps the under 70 streak alive.

This team is so confusing. Looked poor against ODU and Charlotte, lose Mulkey, and then pull one out against UNT and put together a good game on the road against UAB. There's obviously been more winning than losing, but a lot is still going to depend on what iteration shows up in the conference tournament.

74 - 65 final Strong final 5 minutes of the game gave us some breathing room after what had been a very close game throughout. The keys were the 3-point shooting (10-21) free throw shooting (14-17) and low turnovers (only 8). Without Mulkey, our defense and rebounding struggles.

Erica: 21 points, 7 boards, 2 steals in only 28 minutes
Smith: 17 points, 4 boards, 3 assists
Schwartz: 12 points, 3 boards

In fairness, the Charlotte loss was without both Mulkey (injury) and Erica (fouled out) for much of the second half.

How long is Mulkey expect to be out?

I have no information (when has that stopped anybody from posting something), but she hit the ground pretty hard in that Charlotte game. Considering there's no shot for an at large bid, I'd think we'd be as cautious as possible to make sure she's 100% for the conference tournament. This is assuming that the injury isn't season-ending serious.

Just saw that this was Langley’s 100 win with the program. Time flies - I didn’t realize we’re in season 5 of her tenure.

My guess is she might be back in limited action for the next two games, with the hope to have her at full strength for the ODU home game.

Who's the other? I thought it might be the Oregon player (Ionescu sp?) but she's a few rebounds shy of 1000 still. But when she gets there in the next game or two, she'll actually become the first NCAA player (male or female) with 2000+ career points, and both 1000+ career rebounds and assists.

Also, I'm thinking we've had other Rice players with that career milestone. Without looking it up, I'm pretty sure Jessica Kuster was well past those numbers.

Regardless, it's a pretty impressive milestone for Erica.

Oregon's Ruthy Hebard. Kuster is the only other Rice player.

I take it this is career, including games she may have played before Rice.
Just curious, what were her scoring and rebounding averages before Rice?

Here are her full/career Pepperdine stats (her freshman year: 2015-16): https://pepperdinewaves.com/documents/20...Career.pdf

She scored 479 points (18.4/game) and grabbed 199 rebounds (7.5/game) for the Waves.

Wow!! Thanks. Already that good as a freshman!! How did we steal her away?

Ionescu got the 2000/1000/1000 milestone tonight. So Erica is one of 3 active players with the 2000/1000 (she's still about 750 assists shy of 1000).

This week's ESPN bracketology has ODU and WKU in and Rice as "next four out" (5th team out).

Stating the obvious: The March 7 rematch with ODU @Tudor will be very important.
