Smith's decline on offense has really hurt us this year. ODU's basically not defending her. Wide open look and she barely grazes the rim and then a sloppy double dribble.

55-53 ODU. Was a shot clock violation but probably should be ODU ball after the ball looks to have grazed the rim. Big moment in the game not securing that rebound.

An outrageous game so far from Erica. Bails us out with a steal on the defensive end and then lays one in to tie it up (with a good pass back from Smith). An all-world effort so far.

Erica misses a 3 at 0:26 then Schwartz commits a foul at 0:16.

And ODU will have a chance to win it after an awful offensive possession where we chose to do nothing for 26 seconds. Nobody got more than 3 feet inside the 3-point line on that possession. Langley needs to call a timeout at the 10 second mark there (in my opinion).

Well we get the stop and overtime. ODU got a good look there but they didn't get Nancy out of the play.

Heading to overtime. Rice starters have played most of the game. Only one player has played 30 minutes for ODU.

24 seconds into OT and Wiggins fouls out. Finished with 5 points, 5 rebs, and 2 assists.

Erica 0-2 in OT so far. ODU leads 59-55 with 2:23.

Feels so much like the Marquette game (without the 4th quarter collapse obviously). Doesn't seem like anybody has any legs left for overtime. ODU content to drive it on every possession while screening Nancy.

Not sure why we don't try to put someone else in for offense.

Smith commits a 5 second violation out of a timeout. A terrible game for her on offense and a mistake you can't make there.

And for the cherry on top, Smith misses consecutive FTs with 30 seconds left which would have made it a one score game.

Smith is such a talented player, just a surprisingly bad game.

Final is 66-59 ODU. Fair play to them, they were the better team. 26 and 18 for Erica but nothing else much positive on offense. There are some worrying signs, but it's just one game and it's not like tonight demonstrated that we can't beat them on the return trip. The key to this team playing well still seems to be Wiggins and Smith. We need contributions from them. They're both elite on defense but there are too many stretches where they disappear on offense.
