Here is info I have seen on him so far
Quote:ALSO FROM INSIDERS....Marcus Malone, 6-2 JR SG Compton (Calif.) Dominguez, is a solid prospect who might end up playing either guard spot. While not a pure point, Malone has a good feel for the game and sees the court well. He has a nice lefty stroke and is a good, but not great, athlete. Malone has a very good basketball body, with long arms and big feet. We like his upside down the road. We spoke briefly with Malone prior to a spring league game last night and he told us that he's received some interest from Texas Tech, Santa Clara, Oregon and Navy. Malone said he has a 3.2 GPA and will take the SAT in June
Quote:Marcus Malone, 6'4", slick passer and good 3 point shot.
Invited as one of 26 top high school players to take part
in the Pango Dream Tourney at Pauley Pavilian on
January 3 where LeBron James starred last year.
Quote:He is just under 6-5 and is 215 lbs.
He is a four year guy not a juco. He was number one on UH "wants" as far as 2/wings.
One coach I talked to said...."Marcus is one of the top 3 shooters that I have seen for 2005"
Georgetown, Depaul and Southern Cal (late) were after Marcus.
He is a GREAT shooter with outstanding range. A Catino Mobley type with a little more technically pure stroke.
Malone is a southpaw and he will be a qualifier.
If Tom accepted a committment this early you can be assured this guy can really play.
A couple of side notes....Marcus' father played college football with Jerry Rice @ MissValley and later played with the SD Chargers.
Thanks to 81Coog, CougarBoy and Coog86 on Coogfans for the info.
Sound like Tom has brought in a player. One of the problems with last years team (and there were many) was that they could not shoot to save their lives.

New news says that the young man has changed his mind. He has decided to go to Depaul.
