Only Houston is different next season, and they played a FCS team this season. So, I'm not surprised everyone voted for their own teams, because all the schedules are similar and the conference as a whole doesn't benefit all that much from, say, Temple going 4-0 as opposed to Tulane, or UCF, or Cincy, or SMU.
I, of course, voted for SMU because after next year we will have a VASTLY different team going into 2021 with no real record of being able to rebuild, so SMU needs to be able to take advantage of Shane Buechele, Granson, Roberson, and the others while we have them. I distinctly told people at the beginning of the season that SMU isn't in a position to turn down a 10 win season and that going the transfer route, despite it's short term mentality, would be successful if they could get that two years in a row - and again, that was before the success of this past season. So I stand by my pick for my school.
Agreed. While only a few teams double up on P5's, none of them have a splash schedule ah la Houston's Oklahoma/Louisville combo from a few years back.
ECU doesn't have a potential splash schedule on the schedule in future years. 2023 has Michigan, App State, Marshall, and an open slot. While I'd love to slot in a likely top 10 contender, it will probably end up being some FCS garbage.

I picked Navy. Impressive team lately but really need that statement win.
If literally any other team had 1 more name brand P5 I'd pick them.
Ditto. An undefeated season with a win over ND would make Navy a lock for highest ranked non-P5.

Fine. Minor revision made for Temple having RUTGERS and UCF.
But you'll understand if I basically stand by what I said.

Which school are you demoting from P5, Georgia Tech or North Carolina? For that matter, when exactly did BYU get promoted?

Tend to agree about UNC-CH as they will be very good next season. Still not sure how good Georgia Tech will be, as they are still in major rebuild mode.
Across the entire conference there are no marquee must see OOC contests next year. Which means that there is a chance for a lot AAC to do well out of conference and compile some gaudy records heading into conference play, with 3-5 teams ending the season with 10+ wins and 3-4 ranked teams again.

You still have to deal with people remembering the past few seasons. Look at the 3 loss UCF ranking last season. #24.

I think you have to go with stronger conference players of the past. UCF/Houston/Navy. Honestly a very tough vote as no one's OOC is anything great imho. Each school has maybe one cache game and 1 clear dud.
TBH tho we should have another great vs. OOC win record for the league with this. No giants.

Nobody's OOC schedule is better than anyone else's. Everyone's got an "eh" P5 game and then a bunch of palookas.
The best bet as a conference is to go with the name recognition teams, UC, UCF, Houston... or now maybe Memphis.
I'm sorry, Tulsa can win all their games and they're not getting ranked higher than #24.

Not sure about that. If the AAC was competitive overall, Tulsa won all their games, and handed Ok State their only loss, they'd be a teeny-bopper.

Given Memphis plays both UH & Cincy who have the very slightly tougher schedules, and given in this undefeated scenario, I think Memphis clearly should be the higher ranked.

I'd imagine a few teams can say that, while also playing teams not named after chicken processing facilities.

If Moore returns we have a chance to have the best LB's in the conference, and since we have a chance to take a step forward in almost every category on offense we may just as well plan on flat out outscoring people. Not saying we are going to be the best, but Pony ain't crazy.
But again, we need to take advantage next year, because we are going to lose ALOT afterwards.

UC, Memphis and UCF will likely be ranked at various points next season. Nebraska, despite their 5-7 record will be ranked in the Top 25 to start the year because they are... well.... Nebraska. Their first three games are very winnable: Purdue, Central Michigan and South Dakota State. By the time their game rolls around with UC the Corn will probably be Top 15 (maybe higher). If UC wins this should put them up in that 15 range as well by week 4.
If UC then goes on to run the table and beat a ranked Memphis and UCF, along with Houston and the rest they will likely finish within the top 5, possibly in that 6-8 range.
What a joke post. The interwebs wins again.
