I remember English went HC/DC at the end of his time at EMU. The program is in a different place now, but it would seem like we’d be able to attract somebody to come in and take the role.

CC may have not liked the options waiting out there at this moment. Maybe he knows of somebody that may be searching at the end of next year? The English move came out of necessity... to try and save a job. This move is more or less waiting for the perfect fit I would assume.

English was a lame duck - no one wanted that job. CC entrenched - i think he just didnt love his options.

I agree. I think he would rather wait and have a better opportunity to get the guy he wants.

OC is too important a position to make a bad hire.

I hear you. It would seem that at this point in his tenure and the improvement that has been achieved, we’d be able to attract solid candidates.

Some of these moves are hard to understand.

The assignments seem convoluted.

Blaney's a great hire

Hicks seems like a nice hire. Played in the league - young guy.

Patton as Run Game Coordinator makes total sense to me - I love it.

Reed and Nunez must be showing CC something behind the scenes to get that level of trust. He's earned the benefit of the doubt to me.

I think its worth mentioning how many people of color CC has on staff. I think that's great. EMU was the first Div 1-A school with a black MBB, WBB, and FB at the same time and i think diversity is strength.

Agree with your comments. Patton is obvious to be a run coordinator.

Reed and Nunez might be rising in C.C.'s eyes.

Hicks is very interesting. I like that he has a fair amount of MI coaching experience at Taylor Truman H.S. and Concordia in Ann Arbor.

Also good experience at BG, which fits well with his experience in S.E. MI. Has good ties and some experience in Mississippi, which might prove helpful in recruiting.

Everything said here makes sense to me.
As for Hicks: he was recruiting MI for BGSU the past two years--and doing well. He also coached the secondary at U North Texas. I hope EMU sends him back to Dallas to recruit.

I wonder how successful he can be recruiting say parts of Texas, Mississippi, and part of MI?

Should be interesting next December what we do in Texas and say Mississippi.
