Cincinnati is leading the conference in assists (Memphis is 3rd)

Cincinnati is 4th in the conference in 3-pt field goal percentage (Memphis is 8th)

Memphis is leading the conference in field goal percentage (Cincinnati is 2nd)
Memphis is 3rd in the conference in scoring offense (Cincinnati is 5th)
Memphis is 2nd in the conference in blocked shots (Cincinnati is 4th)

Looking at conference games only provides for a small statistical sample, but Cincinnati won at UCF and won 3 out of the last four games. Hopefully, a combination of DJ, Dandridge and Achiuwa can wear down Chris Vogt. In 3 of the last 4 games, Vogt ended each game with 4 fouls, so lets box him out and get him into foul trouble. We better come prepared to play or Cincinnati will hand it to us.

Yeah, way too small a sample.

Weird stuff though.

Cincy goes to Tulane and loses by 5.
Cincy goes to UCF and wins by 14.
UCF goes to Tulane and wins by 19.
Cincy beats Tulsa by 31.
Tulsa beats Temple by 26.
Temple beats Wichita State by 12.
Tulsa beats Houston by 2.
Houston beats Temple by 4.

The only thing predictable is the unpredictable this year.

It is truly a weird batch of data.

Cincinnati vs Memphis Basketball Preview

Somewhat funny

Quote:Gary Parrish of CBS, who also follows Memphis closely, identifies that Achiuwa, DJ Jeffries, Lester Quinones, Tyler Harris and Alex Lomax are the five best Memphis has to offer. What’s interesting about that is that Sam Vecenie of the Athletic notes that those 5 have played just 17 offensive possessions together. This is partly due to the presence of Wiseman in the beginning of the season but also seems to be related to coaching stubbornness.

It is silly...They are the best offensively according to Gary.

But there are two sides to the floor.

So you could make a case for them being our best players right now, certainly on the offensive end.

We need this one for our standing, but also to break the mental lock Cincy has seemed to have on us in recent years. GTG

Quick reminder: the refs will make some bad calls against us and for us. Also, the refs cannot be the reason we win or lose the game.

I don't think it arguable that they are our best offensive players.

Huge?

I don't think seeding is going to be too terribly different between the 1 and 2 seeds in the conference tourney.

I don't know who is hosting this year...I guess that is who the higher seeds would like to avoid.
