Well, it's clear to me...
With the way this season is unfolding, top teams dropping like fly's, if we had Wiseman this year, a championship would be a real possibility.

Karma is a b!tch...

I'm still not sure an all freshman lineup can get it done in the big dance. My expectations were low.

Make no mistake.

This was the year.

Not that we can't do it another way but with Wiseman we had a helluva shot THIS year.

Karma would indicate that Memphis Basketball did something wrong to bring on bad luck. What did we do wrong?

Doesn't seem to be any dominant team this year, the chance is still there but considerably smaller

We still lost to Oregon with Wiseman. I don't think we would be undefeated even if we had him - we would be in the same bucket as everyone else as a contender, not a dominant, team.

I agree that this year would have been our championship to lose. The problem is that Duke and Kentucky and the boys made sure that wouldn't happen. With all the other allegations out there for P5 schools in football and basketball, they decided to stick it to us. If Penny gives up, I think I will too.

If I could add Wiseman or a top level guard...

I would take the top level guard right now...Our frontcourt is fine.

Our backcourt is where we need some serious offensive help.

It doesn't matter the amount of additional talent we add to the frontcourt if our guard play doesn't improve. You are not going to win 6 games against good teams with poor guard play.

Karma is that the NCAA has more teams under investigation for violations than it does great basketball teams. The NCAA, with its archaic rules and selective enforcement, has single-handedly ruined its own sport.

He got into foul trouble very early in the game and had to sit out most of the half; and one of them was not even a correct. He had limited playing time and he still got double-double. With the season progression, he would have had matured a lot; and know what Precious can do and both of them on the court would wreak havoc for the opponents...we would have had a serious shot at a Final 4.

THIS

In NCAA Tourney, it’s great guard play that generally pushes a team thru for a final 4 run. Simply look at recent teams that have won the title:

2019 - VA Kyle Guy 15.5 per game (Most Outstanding Player)

2018 - Villanova Jalen Brunson 19.5 per game (Nat. Player of year)

2017 - NC Joel Berry 15 per game (Most Outstanding Player)

There are many more, however this represents the most recent years.

Will anyone ever forget what Kemba Walker did in UConn’s 2011 run? Basically put the team on his back as a 9 seed in Big East tourney and averaged 24 points per game and 5 assists for the year. Also MOP in Final 4 and eventual championship run.

In the NBA the big man dominates, in college ball Guards are the key.

I agree. This is why getting Boogie going is so important.

Think about it.

It's hard for me to imagine why we would trade Wiseman for any player much less a guard.
