And Murry coached in a much tougher league.

late 90's/early 2000's conference was like NBA compared to the garbage conference we are in now...

no comparison...

No. Ehsan isnt playing Cincinatti, Marquette, Louisville, DePaul every year as conference mates. Modern CUSA is a cupcake league with no national powers. Our schedule is the softest ever and yet we cant even win home games. The UAB basketball program is barely a shadow of what it was previously. I barely recognize it. Lets not kid ourselves, our beloved program has zero momentum, and is going nowhere fast.

Ehsan may be a better coach than it appears, but watching Gueye not develop, and the all the players transfer out, has me thinking Ehsan and staff struggle to recruit, to develop, to consistently motivate and to retain players who can win the league. That should be our minimum expectation is to compete for the cusa championship every year. Not this.

We definitely don't seem to have coaches that development players as best I can tell. I'm just a fan though not know-it-all and have all the answers like a lot of the nut job trolls that post on this board.

I like recruiting high character kids that make good grades but I WANT OUR TEAMS TO WIN TROPHIES.

I don't give thousands of hard earned dollars every year to watch my team that is 16-12 in year 4 with a coach that can't excel in a subvpar conference.

be lucky to draw 2000 fans Thursday night. doubt any students will be there either...unless we are giving out free food or something to bribe them to stay for the first half...

I recall one season when Murry's Blazers won at least ten games against SWAC (and perhaps MEAC) teams going about 10-0 going into conference play. Once in conference play, the record was almost entirely reversed. If we had been in the SWAC that season, we would have made the NCAA Tournament.

Honoring the football team at half time for another division title so I guess that is what draws fans to BBall games these days 03-banghead

Public service announcement.... I love our football team and am a season ticket holder who has been to all home games since the return so that is not a shot at the football team

Thank you for that correction.

I blocked Moe Ron, the bama enthusiast, last year. Made this board much more enjoyable for me. Seeing his quotes in the occasional post further reinforces the wisdom of that move.

Haha. In my 15 years on this board, I’ve blocked 2 posters.
One was recently banned.
The other is BnBFan...like you, sometimes I wonder what he said. And like you, I sometimes see him quoted and realize the wisdom

I do remember that some on the message board at the time would refer to UAB as the SWAC champions

We are season ticket holders and will be there regardless, but if the game doesn't keep you interested, find the Marshall fan section, and entertain yourself with watching the mom of Marshall's Jannson Williams. The lady is an insult to crazy people. She thinks her son still plays Upward basketball. I can't believe she doesn't change his diaper at halftime. She screams at the band kids, complains about the ushers, whines about every call. She isn't easy on the eyes, but she is def the game within the game.

I met Jannson Williams at C-USA tournament several years ago at BJCC. He was an extremely nice, polite and well-spoken young man He was in high school at the time already committed to Marshall. He's from the Atlanta area. I feel Williams makes Marshall a better team when on the floor especially defensively and rebounding. In our last meeting with Marshall UAB went on a big run when he went to the bench. Just an observation but I hope he gets limited minutes against us. I did meet his Mom too and seemed like a fun fan. Maybe she's a bit high strung with son playing so enjoy.
