RE: Keith Easterwood
I dont mean to sound callous, and I do like Easterwood. In fact, it is one of the few times I listen to GP is on Tuesday.

The guy has spent a lifetime abusing the hell out of his liver through his own choice. Too many people out there who need transplants that was not because of their lifestyle choices.

I am sure he has made plenty of jokes over his adult life about some day needing a new liver with all the drinking he was doing.

Yeah so what. ( talkin to memtig)
ain’t our place to decide if anyone’s worthy.

Docs decide. But they like to tout their success rate. Its partially based on age, your insurance, money for aftercare, and where you are on the liver list.

He has cancer. Getting chemo likely impacted his liver. Feel dumb now.

Since some posts touched on drinking and potential liver transplants, this is meant as a PSA and not specific to the subject of this thread.

About 15 years ago my best friend since high school was told he would need a liver transplant. However, since he was a heavy drinker he was told he was not a candidate.

I don't know if that's the case for everyone, or if that's still applicable today 15 years later. Just take it for what it's worth.

If you or a loved one drink to excess, please get it under control by whatever means necessary. The physical harm done to your body is not worth it.

Chrisd11's house and it was was "There's a line in front of your house ..."

"From the Halls of Montezuma, ..."

kizz her was a jamammy directed phrase.

You have to be sober for 6 months just to get on the recipient list. I talked to a guy awhile back that led a local AA group. He had been sober for 30 years and just recently got a transplant.

I had a good friend die young because of his drinking, at least a bottle of vodka a day. I hadn't seen him in a year and he showed up my house to say goodbye. He also had a cocaine problem. I didn't recognize him until he told me who he was. He was dead within 3 months. I'm glad as hell I never really developed a taste for alcohol or the powder.

Typically people have to be clean 6 months before they are even considered to be on the list. I'm an ICU nurse by the way. Also I think he has liver cancer. I'm sure you didn't mean to be rude but thoughts like this probably should be kept to yourself.

I wondered how long it would take before someone would feel the need to be an ass...

RE: Keith Easterwood
In fairness, Easterwood would likely welcome the smack talk bs and comeback with a few of his own.

He was never one to run from a good back and forth.

Doesn't matter much how he got where he is now, just that he is there and it is what it is.

Nobody is all bad or all good.

He has helped a lot of kids, been a community hero, a father, a brother, a husband, and a son.

He is a good dude.

We all have flaws.

Right now, he needs a liver, some luck, and a lot of love.

Save the pettiness for another day.
