ESPN and bowl game logos
What's going on with the ESPN and bowl game logos flashing between plays? This has happened on every ESPN bowl game I have seen. It is damned annoying. I know I'm watching ESPN and I know which bowl game I'm watching. I don't need to be told every other minute. Or, more often.

Same reason they run 5 or 6 commercials at every time out or change of possession, halftime is at least 20 minutes, and the games are over 4 hours long. $$$$.

These flashes of logos don't seem to be scheduled. They are about 1/2 second long with no sound. The commentators are interrupted. Sometimes there are two flashes about two seconds apart.

There was one bowl that took 3 hours 20 minutes to play 3 quarters. And it wasn’t even a high scoring game like those BXII shootouts of the 2000s that would go 4 hours.

Could it be a copyright stamp?

What irritates me is these stupid sponsor-named bowls. Why can't they call them by their original names? Example: The Gator Bowl logo along with the sponsor logo. Some of these bowls names are just stupid. Nothing like bragging to your grand kids that you played in the Taxslayer Bowl.

If they're going to pay each participating team a few million to play in the bowl game, the money has to come from somewhere. Given that well over half of these bowl games have more empty seats than filled seats, not enough money is coming from ticket sales, and I doubt Taxslayer or Cheez-It or Camping World would pay any significant amount of money just to have a few advertisements shown during a bowl game without their name attached to the game.
