Mike has his work cut out for him. This Sun Bowl game is unwatchable.

FSU did not fire their coach after 1.5 years because they were good....

I will find it interesting to see how Norvell does when he is given a CF to work with. He inherited a good base to build on here - there, not so much.

I liked him while he was here, and I hate that he left to try and grab the golden ring. But it doesn't come easy....

I'm curious, I didn't watch the game was Norvell at the game?

That’s kind of what I’m wondering too. Mike did a great job here of maintaining and then building; but Fuente had already flipped the culture. Florida State looked broken and Mike is likely going to have to clean house and that could mean a protracted rebuild. I hope he’s successful.

considering FL is a hot bed of great high school recruiting I doubt it is going to take him that long to rebuild. add on top of that the transfer portal and he will be fine.

It’s not like UF, FSU or Miami have been setting the world on fire as of late.

Miami is on their 4th coach this decade
FSU is on their 3rd
And UF is on their 3rd

The state is loaded, but FSU is not an overnight fix. Mike will win, if they give him time.

I hope he does better than Fuente. This past recruiting season 2/3rd of his class is still 3 stars.

You can almost time the downfall of those programs with the rise of UCF, USF and FAU. He is going to have to change that direction plus I think they have to go out of state now. Should be able to do that with a national name. Don't be shocked if he lands some Memphis kids..everyone else does.

I didn't watch much of it, but thought I remembered a shot of him in the booth. Maybe I'm wrong.

I did see him in an PSA during the Penny Hardaway show Sunday. Probably need to remove that.

I don't wish him any ill will, but I don't have any hope for Norvell doing well in recruiting in the future since he is recruiting for another school

If it weren’t for Fuente, there never would have been a Mike Norvell. Justin Fuente took over a literal dumpster fire left by Tommy West and Larry Porter and turned it into a legitimate 10 win program. Justin Fuente built the Memphis program and every Memphis fan owes him, at least, a bit of gratitude.

No doubt about that. JF did a great job here and is responsible for our turnaround. I hope he does well at VT. I didn't like the way he left though. With word getting out that he was leaving with four games left to go. The Tigers kind of fell apart, except for the SMU High School game. Probably was more VT's fault that the news got out. But still I felt that it could and should have been handled better.
