Raises hand.
Remember that video from Tiger lane where the drunk fan chats up Bowen? Everyone jumped on the drunk but not the guy that posted it.
Its different now, right?
Yeah if the drunk had posted the video as a measure of his manliness, it would have been in poor taste. I mean the dude who accosted Bowen didn’t know some bunghole was gonna post it.
Wait. Was he drunk? I thought he was just always that kewl.

No, he didnt post it on snapchat. The Tub of crap's favorite player on the team, who he recruited and even called out as being "his type of player" posted it on snapchat then QUIT THE TEAM and transferred...
But people seem to forget that and just yell out LAWSONS
Who cares who posted it?
Yeah it matters...
Saying things in private and broadcasting those things for everyone to hear are two entirely different things.
I am sure there are plenty of things you have said in private that you wouldn't want rebroadcast to the world.
Private?!?!
The cool drunk guy thought his comments were private too but when he saw The Dick filming he knew he was going to be subjected to the taunts of social media. I.e. He knew it was no longer private.

I love all our tough guys who have convinced themselves that they were complete adults unlike nearly everyone else when they turned 23.
All of you, fully emotionally mature individuals who were unworthy of giving apologies or receiving any grace after having done so
So mature you never did anything that would reflect poorly on you. Because after all, you were paying rent somewhere (and I am sure taking care of everything else in your life on your own sans mistakes)
We get it, because on a message board you can post that we must be responsible for our actions and that pearl is enough to justify publically shitting on someone whenever they err
Such glory
Turn some of those unrelenting full adult at 23 (or 20-21 when you made a public mistake) eyes of yours and turn them on some bigger issues. Or, mock this Memphis kid. Er, I mean oh so full adult

Don’t sweat the petty things.
Don’t pet the sweaty things.-George Carlin
I don't know that I really feel sorry for KJ, but I certainly don't wish any ill will on the guy. He has made some mistakes, much like all of us, and generally consequences follow mistakes like it or not. Sometimes that is painful, and it's definitely not always fair. However, learning from those mistakes is what builds the character of who you are as you progress through your life. I hope he uses this to become a stronger, better person at the end of the day (and I don't mean that to imply he is/was a "bad" person today or in the past).
Can't condone the boos, but I'm also not offended at all by something that has been a part of all sports for longer than any of us have lived. The fact is that he has been blessed to be a college basketball player at 3 different D1 schools. However the tradeoff is that his mistakes have been publicly amplified in a way most of us could never understand in our own regular lives. Thinking back to myself at 20-25, I can't even imagine some of the things I said or did being plastered everywhere and debated on radio, social media and message boards.
How can anyone not be a little touched by his emotion in the post game. At the end of the day I hope that he achieves his dreams not because he was a Tiger or Memphian, but more due to him being a young man who's trying to find his way.

He shall forever be known as The Dick.
Ranger Dick, to you buddy
wait, i thought the cameraman was The Dick, not the drunk guy.

Well deserving of ranger status!

I wasn't there, but I am disappointed he was booed.
His pop got done dirty and he transferred, which I get.
The middle fingers were always at Tubby, not the fans.
I wish him well, I wish he wasn't booed.
I guess his brother isn't coming here.
Last thought, if you want to boo him or not, that sort of thing makes our fanbase look petty and can be used against it in recruiting. So, from even a practical standpoint, it's a bad idea.

Oh well, on to the next.
Is there another one? Chandler went to Oregon and the staff didn't even recruit him... top 100 prospect in the city and didn't even get a look Penny might not want you to boo KJ but he doesn't want the Lawson's

To everyone in this thread who were bothered about Lawson being booed.
Here’s my question for you... Is it ok to boo if the player is taunting and giving to our fans after he makes shots?
I will answer this question in my opinion. There are exceptions.
If you boo Brady White it is wrong.
If you boo that kid from Duke that was tripping people (in the game that he tripped someone) then it is different.
There are also players who invite boo storms. A perfect example is Reggie Miller (yes I know he was a pro but as an example of the personality) who never missed an opportunity to taunt the crowd. He invited crowd reaction, fed off of it, and redirected it.
Nick Van Exel... he would hit a dagger 3 and then throw his arms in the air inviting the crowd to give him all they could, or put his hand up to cup his ear to once again invite a crowd reaction..
so yes, there are circumstances where it isnt completely inappropriate, but rational thinking people (yes I know when it comes to sports people are irrational) can see the difference.
If you are booing with the intent to break a kid down (and yes 23 years old is still a kid to an old guy like me) then it is absolutely wrong.

KJ was taunting our fans. When you do that it’s game on. I did not boo him when he was introduced. My sons didn’t boo. My dad didn’t boo. But the moment he started to act like a *rick and taunt our fans after he made shots. It’s totally fair game. If he wanted to get cheers and appreciation, he should not of taunted the fans. Period. All he had to do was make his shots and run down to the other end. Show class like my friend Larry did by helping Walton up after he hurt his ankle. That would have been the way to assure not getting booed. He could have jogged over just before the tip off and shake Penny’s hand. Then go shake every Tiger starter’s hand.
He did none of that. He chose to act like a punk.
Now even though he acted like a jerk, my family didn’t boo him. But I can understand anyone who did.
