I just don't get this stuff. Thousands of kids play D1 ball every year and the injury occurrence is minimal. Dude could have balled out for 15 or so games and played for an NCAA title.

Not shocked at all. He's already a top 5 lock so no need to come back and play 2 months and potentially get hurt.

If he isn't a student/athlete he can get a loan to pay back the $$$. Only thing I can think of. I wish him nothing but the best. He's a fine young man.

Good for him. Any top recruit should tell the NCAA to go to hell like Hampton and Ball did this season. Why make money for a corrupt organization like the NCAA when you can make money yourself.

Well. I didn’t see this coming, but now we have to have our big men to step up even more. I wish him well, wherever he goes. I hope this doesn’t affect our recruiting down the line. I don’t think it will though, development is something that these coaches are good at. I wonder if Penny told him to go on after he was probably thinking about it?

The NCAA allows him 4 years to pay it back. I imagine by June or so he could scrape up the money.

I hate it, but what does he have to gain.

Projected as the #1 pick...Only thing he could possibly gain is name recognition for endorsements. He is already projected as the #1 pick and if he doesn't light the world on fire he will fall.
