Southern Pigskin: The Rising Sun Belt
According to Southern Pigskin and an advanced metric used, the Sun Belt is the most improved conference in football in 2019.

However, there is also proof, aside from many other advanced metrics, showing the AAC coming in ahead of the ACC.

You can kinda blame ECU and Terry Holland for some of the issues with C-USA. Not all as I highly doubt he was the one pushing them to add large market schools just for the sake of adding them, but he absolutely was pushing them to go beyond 12 to limit crossover games and absolutely wanted more regional opponents for ECU.

Holland was an advocate for App State however, so far he appears to have been right on that one.

As I recall Holland wanted to go to 18 schools and essentially play as two 9 team league for scheduling purposes.

RE: Southern Pigskin: The Rising Sun Belt
The Sun Belt did good. App had a good team and could have competed well with the top 4-5 AAC schools this year. Don't think they would have won AAC, but they would have been in ball games. They were laying the wood to South Carolina, I watched that game. Louisiana had a good year also.
