Well next year the Belt is part of the Bowl Pool so maybe that'll unwad some of y'all's panties.

Be happy for the team and player's chance at getting a fifth bowl win in a row and to finished ranked. Quit being whiny bitchasses

Buy your NOLA Bowl tickets and support App State or show yourself to the effin door.

I'm not sure how this commissioner got his job, like what are the qualifications for a job like that? Seeing him in Boone yesterday, I was unimpressed, in fact the whole trophy ceremony as far as the hired talent who presented it compared with last year seemed lacking. I did enjoy the APP faithful chanting APP-STATE. This commissioner may have taken on a job that requires more than he is qualified for.

Guys when these bowl ties ins were established the SBC was on the bottom. The next round of bowl shuffling will tell us a lot of the new pecking order. Three of the last four years the SBC has been the clear 3rd best G5 conference.

Beat UAB.

Lol....good job. Whatever you do don't lose. If your coach is gone it will make it tougher.

Yea unfortunately the bowl tie-ins are somewhat restricting. Keep winning OOC games and let's go undefeated in bowls. Perception of the belt is still that we're the bottom G5 conference and it will take time to change it.

Perception by whom? Who is still saying that other than CUSA fans across the street that won't let go of the past?

This!

Years ago only the SBC champion got into a bowl game, everyone else was sitting at home even with a 7-5 or better record. Nowadays at least we get to send multiple teams to bowl games. Soon we will be able to get better bowls deals...it takes time but we are getting there.

That’s a good point, and it’s something to look forward too, or maybe not depending what we get, but it still doesn’t help this yr, top 20 team, only one to beat 2, count em, 2 P5 schools, and one is going bowling, against an opponent that will not finish in the top 70 and an FPI ranking of 105. Not saying this game is a lock, they can certainly beat us, but it’s tough to swallow with the kind of season we have had.

It's pretty embarrassing, and I'm sure if any players are looking infuriating, that the fan base has reacted this way.

Blaming a commissioner for deals inked before his time. Calling the conference a joke. Calling a 9 win team a joke.

Yeah definitely can’t be there. Would if I could but I will more than happy to watch with some fans in Concord because that is where I will be that night.

Look that’s what I’m saying too. But I’m expanding it. In my eyes, this isn’t really about App. It’s about any SBC school that manages to have a season like ours. We can HOPE things will be better next time when bowls are renegotiated, but forgive me for being skeptical. I can root for App to beat UAB l, go to the bowl game, and think our football team got shafted at the same time.

I hear ya...but its just how things are right now.. In 2007, Troy finished 8-4 + destroyed Oklahoma State at home (and caused Gundy’s “I am 40, I am a man” speech), played very competitive games vs Arkansas (McFadden and Jones), UGA and Tebow’s Gators... scoring 90 points combined against these SEC teams and we still couldn’t go to a bowl game because FAU beat us, 38-32. As a result, Trojan nation was watching the Washington at Hawai’i game late at night (which was our only hope) rooting for the Huskies to beat Hawai’i but Jake Locker was too young at that time and Colt Brennan won that game for Hawaii...so we didn’t get a bowl invite despite being 8-4 and 6-6 teams were going bowling. Since then I am thankful for every bowl game we can get...

gee, I can remember dozens of times the team that griped about the terrible match-up got beat so better plan would be to boner up and take care of business. all this "beat em by 50" talk will get uab more focused.

I expected you guys to get a better bowl opponent then us. We're in an obvious rebuilding year

FAU vs App would've been good

I remember sitting at home one year after finishing 9-3 and spending time in the Top 25 during the season. So yes, I agree that things are much better these days. Still, App State got shafted with its matchup against UAB. They deserved to play in a better bowl game than the New Orleans Bowl.
