The Mean Green are 3-6, and one of those wins was over a non-D1 school. But don't let that fool you. They lost to #25 VCU in Richmond by only 3 points. And last night they came within 2 of Oklahoma. So at times they can turn it up.

This is not a tall team. They probably will start 6-8, 6-4, 6-4 across the front line, and only have one player on the roster over 6-8.

As you might expect, they shoot a lot of 3s, and do so reasonably well at 33%. Redshirt senior guard D. J. Draper is their sharpshooter, hitting 56% of his attempts from the arc. Umoja Gibson leads them in scoring at 15 ppg and is the only player averaging double figures. He does most of his damage from the arc, also. Despite having a short lineup, they still dominate on the board by plus-5.

Their defense is outstanding, holding opponents to 41% overall and 30% from the arc.

Sagarin picks them by 5.
RealtimeRPI has them by 29.
Go figure.

They average 63 ppg and give up 61 ppg. Omnirankings.com has them by 1.

This is one game where I really wish we had our two big guys available.

Although it will be a tough game, a win here will prove we will be a contender in the Belt. I expect a win

I didn’t get to see it either as CUSA video is not available without purchase. But giving up 19 threes against a team with a losing record indicates pretty lousy defense in a twenty point loss.

I was just watching the live stats, but either we were not playing much defense, or they were just having one of those once-in-a-lifetime nights.

There is only so far that you can stretch a team. We are going to have to get some bodies replaced, or this could be a long season.

It's an old story, but if you know going in that a game is likely to be tight, turning the ball over 17 times is not the way to make up the difference.

Stulic was hot early, but they put him out of the game with a nose injury.
Monyyong had 9 boards and 5 blocks, but couldn't hit anything on offense.
Johnson had 5 turnovers by himself.
Terrell Curtis saw his first minutes of the season. Why not? He got a rebound and had a steal.
