Kentucky is, if nothing else, the best job in Cal's field.

Ole Miss is our next door dead-end P5 neighbor.

It's not even in the same realm of Calipari. It's just not.

Cal left the program on probation.

Cal took everything with him when he left.

Norvell would be leaving the program in great shape with the ability to continue the current success.

The situations just aren't similar when you take the rivalry out of it.

You're right---its not even in the same realm----it would be MUCH MUCH worse than JUDAS/X/BENEDICT/FREDO---Ky is not a rival----OLE PIZZ is a rival----if he goes to OLE PIZZ---it would most certainly be a slap in the face IMO.

Nope not even close.
It's not gonna happen but it would definitely be a kick in the gut

Bolded part may have been said prior to Calipari leaving about his possible departure.

let me re-phrase - I didn't mean Norvell going to OM, but anywhere else,,,,absolutely none of that touches the surface of the effect when Calipari left what truly is our front porch sports program

I mean there will be turnover as there is with every coaching change, but Cal essentially gutted the program on his way out. I don't see Norvell doing that. I could be wrong though.

Oh I don't think it's going to happen either and yes it would suck, but I don't see it as a slap to the face.

Losing him in general is going to suck.

I told him he's full of it that Norvell has already turned Ole Miss down twice, that if he doesn't go to Florida State, he'd stay at Memphis. RE: Ole Miss & Norvell
Unlike many Memphis fans I dont "hate" other schools, I generally don't care much either way when it concerns other teams. My daughter is an Ole Miss grad and quite a few of my very close family members are Ole Miss fans, alumni...

If Norvell left Memphis to go to Ole Miss, I would be pissed. It MIGHT be a better job, I dont think so, but I am not a coach.. even so, leaving Memphis to go to a slightly better? job who is a local school that most Memphis fans can't stand, would absolutely be a slap in the face...

but, really doesnt matter because

Norvell will never be a coach at Ole Miss, and I am saying never.

Whatever Ole Miss can offer in salary is more than offset by their dysfunction.
He can get comparable money and go to a much healthier program.

This sounds inline with the idiocy that infests Ole Piss.

A.) It is a "done deal" with FSU but they are still making an offer
B.) He has already turned them down multiple times and they are still going back
C.) They actually believe Ole Miss is on par or better than FSU.

That sounds like the delusional fan base that they are...

People forget Cal took the program over from Tic Price. He left the program in very good shape

Cal left 3 four stars and a 5 star on the roster, with a very good reputation among recruits.

Memphis screwed up and hired the wrong coach. The right coach makes the tourney his first year and is likely still here with a long run of tourneys under his belt.

Kentucky is the best job in college basketball.
Ole Miss, it can be debated, is not even the best job in its state.

Norvell taking the Ole Miss job makes no sense. He’d be better off at Arkansas.
