Isn't that sort of their job description?

It might be a part of their job but I don’t believe it’s thats simple. If RS knows something he certainly can’t say it. He has to maintain the trust of coach Norvell and the University. What good does it do to put him in an embarrassing position speculating about his boss. Not to mention it being 2 days before the biggest game in school history and the staff trying to keep the distraction of a coaching change away from the players.

I suppose they could framed the question where it wasn't so tacky. Maybe ask him in a joking way. But no matter how they ask it all Silverfield would say, I'm sure, is some variation of 'the job isn't open.'

Since when must their journalism extend to being a talk show host? In many ways, the two jobs (their journalistic writing and hosting a talk show) conflict.

Hiring Silverfield may also provide the continuity that allows us to keep the players AND recruits we have now while also continue good recruiting into the future. Silverfield is an excellent recruiter.

If it comes down to it, he would be a good coordinator for Freeze.

Just asking why coaches don't get asked questions that make them "uncomfortable" publicly but they make millions of dollars publicly.
