Punter Dane Roy of @UHCougarFB and wide receiver/kick returner Antonio Gibson of @MemphisFB were named as the @American_Conf Special Teams Players of the Year.

Roy is Houston's first winner of the award since 2013.

Gibson becomes Memphis' sixth winner in seven years.

Memphis only had 3 first team selections and is the team that’s 11-1. Norvell should have been Coach of the Year with all that he’s dealt with leading up to and during this season. Brady White should have been OPOY.

Ken turned around a program while Mike just maintained an already good program. Hell, I think Sonny deserves it more than Mike or Ken.

Same number as UCONN...seems about right.

I guess Memphis fans can quibble with that, but I think the balance hurt them as far as first team. The second team offense is loaded with Memphis players. Honestly looking at the first team every choice is pretty justifiable. I'm pretty pleased with the all conference teams.

I wasn't complaining...just attempting humor. Outside of Novell and all he had to replace asst. coach/impact player wise, OL is really the main surprise to me as UM ran the ball really well with new players/returning players moving positions.

Absolute Horse sheet ... one player on offense ... None on defense ... Hell, did we loose to Cincy. How about Navy ??? I would say I must have slept through the season ... But it was obviously the AAC media members. Bunch of d- heads !!!

Memphis had 6 players on first or second team offense. No team in the conference had as many. Cincinnati, for reference, had 3. Memphis was pretty well respected, but my guess is some of their guys split the vote because of the balance on their roster and ended up second team instead of first.
