He's already signed in ink. Dayum. Hope he has some focus left for today.
Quote:Norvell was chosen from a variety of candidates interviewed that included names as diverse as James Franklin, Bob Stoops, Matt Campbell, Brian Kelly, and Haggins himself.
According to Tomahawk Nation’s sources, Norvell’s contract will run for 6 years with a competitive salary.

Ya know, college head football coaches don't owe us fans, alumni, or schools a thing. We as fans will turn on them like a pit bull if they have a couple of losing seasons. They do, however, owe their players. The players are the one's that bought into their "We are family, one heartbeat bullcrap"....College head football coaches should not be allowed to bail out on their players until after the Bowl game. PERIOD. I know it's about money, and recruiting, and yada, yada, yada. But, we are only talking about 3 or 4 weeks and that's crap....

Umm, fans pay for the coaches salaries so yeah they do owe the fans something.

You can't blame the guy for taking a top level job but it really sucks for the players that have followed him day in and day out for several years. What it all comes down to for the game at hand is how will the Tigers respond emotionally. Its hard enough to beat any team twice in a season much less a very talented Bearcat crew that is well coached and then to have this thrown at Memphis at the last moment can't be good.
Also sucks for the AAC to be a coaching farm system for other conferences with our members forced to continuously Patch/Rebuilt solid program foundations.
Sigh!

This is why I've been consistent saying we lose today. The team is going to be completely deflated. If Fickle was also leaving, this game might have ended 3-0 in nine overtimes.

No doubt, this takes some steam out of the engine. No excuses though. If Cincy comes out fired up and ready to play. Congrats to them. Hope the Tigers can match their intensity.

An official announcement could come Sunday.
Rumors or Truth?
Truth, but you're still gonna lose.
It sucks when a coach winning a CCG going to the NY6 game and ESPiN f**** it up with a coaching announcement. Deja vu.
Yes, it's the price of success in this league. Memphis has already had to pay for it once with Fuentes. We were lucky that Frost came back and actually cared about the Peach Bowl.
True, but Fuente’s team fell apart well before this point. Hoping Norvell and crew can finish the job.

I dont know but I doubt anything new is out. If we lose it's because they throw on our awful dbacks all day. That's how you beat us. Hell I'd never even run the ball.

I am watching the App State / Louisiana game on ESPN and I can not believe what Ryan Leaf, the color commentator, just said about Appalachian State. He said "Right now, I think they are the best group of 5 football team in resume, eye test, all of it. If the committee sees what I see they could be playing in the Cotton Bowl before you know it." I had to rewind the game four or five times to confirm what I heard.
I always thought Ryan Leaf was a goof. This statement just proves it.

Exactly. We were 8-0 When Fuente rumors surfaced he was going to Va. Tech. The team knew he was going and all the air went out of the program. We went 0-5 after that. Somebody needs to put a stop to this. Amateur Sports. What a joke.

Right now, watching the game. I agree.
I watched ull play monroe too though and they sucked. Won by a missed field goal.
App could beat us. I dont know if they would but it would be a game.
