+3....They're the 85 Bears of College football (they think). It's the whole Yankee mentality. I grew up there. Ugly up the game. Try to beat up the other team. Up the middle with a cloud of dust. Their basketball team plays the same way. Rust belt mentality. "This is the way it's supposed to be". "This is football".

Memphis needs to be ready to play hard. We definitely have more talent on offense. Most likely on defense too.

Play Southern style football! Show these Yankee boys how it's done. Memphis Grind baby!

You must have forgotten about the Brian Kelly years. Just because we have an injured QB who can't throw with accuracy and can't make reads doesn't mean the fans prefer to win games 15-13.

Fans love to see the most penalized team in the nation. Flag, flag, I reversal, video review. It's painful. I'm sure ABC wants your style of play in the Cotten Bowl. Don't expect any favors Friday. Nobody wants to see you guys play. Aresco must be having a heart attack right now.

We're not North. We're not South. We're not East. We're not West. We're not Yankees (I didn't even know what that word was until I was an adult, I'm still not 100% sure that I do). We're not Rust Belt. We're not Bible belt. We are Cincinnati a largely engineering town. I've never been on a farm. I've never been in a factory, unless you consider GE Aviation a factory. The greater Cincinnati area includes three States, and we conform to none of them.

Math seems to heavily favor the Tigers.

Teams the Bearcats have played in conference are a combined 15-34 (Memphis is 23-26). They have definitely played the easier schedule. Still Cincy is 7-0 in conference despite playing some close games. It just comes down to is the Cincinnati defense able to stop the Memphis offense better than the Memphis defense being able to stop the Cincinnati offense. Barring turnovers by Memphis I don't think Cincinnati can get enough stops win that battle.

You have:
-The Tigers 10th ranked offense vs. the Bearcats 45th ranked defense
-The Bearcats 92nd ranked offense vs. the Tigers 42nd ranked defense
-Memphis averages 42.2 ppg (8) vs. Cincinnati allowing 19.9 ppg (23)
Cincinnati averages 29.9 ppg (64) vs Memphis allowing 24.5 ppg (48)

Common opponents:
Temple - Memphis loses 30-28 at Temple, Cincinnati wins 15-13 at home
USF - Memphis wins 49-10 at USF, Cincinnati wins 20-17 at USF
Houston - Memphis wins 45-27 at Houston, Cincinnati wins at Houston 38-23
Tulsa - Memphis wins 42-41 at Tulsa, Cincinnati wins 24-13 at home

Seems to look more even when you look at how we have done against common opponents. Big edge to playing at home for us though.

I honestly see this closer to two TDs if Ridder plays. I think our defense slows you guys down a bit, but even with how bad your defense is, I don't see Ridder doing anything worthwhile on offense. Hope I'm wrong, but it looks like Ridder is more done than a Thanksgiving turkey at this point.

If he plays like he's played four a month you're probably right. Have to hope he plays well (or Bryant plays well if he can't go). I do think UC's defense can force white into a couple mistakes and UC's special teams seems to make a big play or two every game.

This Cincinnati team's ability to find ways to win is what puts the stats off to the side. The stats don't support our 10-1 record. We have an opportunistic defense that makes key stops during a game and gets turnovers at a high clip. That is probably the biggest factor in our success this year. Agree on home field advantage. All else equal, mano a mano, Memphis should win on their turf. But, that's why you still play the game to decide the final outcome.
