What a tearful situation for the kid. But how about the way Hammock handled it and what he offered Valentine? We should all be proud and thankful that Hammock is the coach of the Huskies. I know that I certainly am.

Yes, I am proud of the way coach handled this difficult situation. I’ve known Rahv since he was in the 7th grade, and I know his future is bright no matter what he decides to do in the future, especially with coach’s guidance.

RE: Valentine Done
That is a shame. I really liked what I saw of him in limited action, and wanted to see him getting more carries. However, that is absolutely the correct decision; his health is more important! That is great that Coach H. offered and he accepted a coaching position. That is classy and I am happy about him being our HC, as Dog Fan just noted. I think the young man will succeed; he always struck me as a player that played with a lot of heart and determination, and should be successful as a coach!

Isaac Hawn also had to hang em up also due to concussions this year; in fact, I his dad said so on here in a really good post. That was a shame also, but again the right decision.

Tough news but I respect his decision. Its gotta be so hard to make a decision like that knowing you’ve played your last down of football...

Good luck, Coach V!!!

This is super unfortunate. I was excited to see the kid play, after what we heard about him this preseason.

But where one door closes, another opens. Hopefully he follows in the footsteps of great NIU coaches.

Dammit! Huskies needed him but that's all he could do. Good luck to him , he was a hell of a RB that was obvious.

Just a shame. THam showed class and coach V made a difficult decision but 1 he can live with.

Another reason why so many PWO offers are being made. Going to be tough to fill all these gaps with players leaving in so many ways.

I'm sure he's disappointed but definitely the right call. Best of luck to Rahveon in his new career.

It has to help being with a coach who had to make the same choice. And it sounds like he's got a strong support network behind him- so vital for anyone's future. No one makes it on their own.

RE: Valentine Done
I wondered why he was not playing very much this year after showing so much potential. I thought that he might have the opportunity to be a very good RB.

At any rate I respect him for his decision and T. Hammock for how he handled the situation.
