Just wondering - since we can't afford to lose much more in order to host a regional.

I'm not worried. I know it's possible to lose, but I just don't think we will given the way we're playing right now.

You're right, though, we do need every win we can get to have a shot at hosting. A loss to the Citadel would not be very helpful.

This game represents a "land mine" of biblical proportions!

I'm worried.

Drake, you wouldn't be you if you didn't worry, you know? 03-wink

The Citadel is a pretty good team and they COULD beat us, but I think the chances are slim because of the confidence our guys have now.

It's times like these I'm glad I'm not into college baseball as much as the rest of you seem to be!

I think I use up all my "worry" ingredients during the football and basketball seasons........I'm not sure I'd have anything left after those sports wear me out, anyway! 'Course, if the Cocks were to actually get to Omaha, I'd probably dig up some worries somewhere! 03-wink

Baseball has always been my passion. I first played organized baseball when I was about 4 years old and have been since. I coach alot and am a fundamental type guy. I love teaching the finer points of the game to the youngsters.

I get a thrill watching one of my players go out onto the field and execute what I have taught them.

Don't get me wrong. It's a great game and I enjoy watching the majors. I've just never gotten into college baseball.

But I will say this........baseball can be as nerve-wracking a sport as any of the rest...........bottom of the ninth, man on second and third, 2 outs, 3-2 count, down by 1 run.....wow!

I like our confidence factor too. It's quite obvious that they have it now and they should. It makes a big difference.

I too am confident that we'll win, but I this is the type of setup that bothers me.

What worries me the most about Citadel is they need this more than we do. We're pretty much in as SEC-E champs as well as the NCAA's. Yeah, there are some other factors that haven't been decided like seedings & hosting, but Citadel still feels they're in the running for an NCAA bid. Beating us would be a feather in their cap. Plus, they'll probably throw their ace against Lalor.

Add all of that with the fact that they're good enough to beat us (like they did last year), & you get a "land mine". 04-nuke
