This. Even holding the ball for the entire shot clock and chucking up a shot from anywhere on the court would have yielded better results. Driving and throwing up a ridiculous shot 5 seconds into the shot clock gave Maryland all the opportunity in the world to come back. That is completely heartbreaking. Up 19 in the 4th quarter and then losing... I don't care who the opponent is, that's losing to yourself.

We looked the better team, by far for 3 quarters. I don’t know what that was the fourth quarter.

Gave up 29 points in the fourth.

This one hurt. A lot.

Worst 10 minutes of ball we've played in a long time. Wish Sean called that first timeout 2 possessions earlier (around the 6 minute mark).

Love the (Lady) Dukes tho.

Some of y'all talking about "bad coaching" and "low basketball IQ" either don't play, never played, or don't sit right down practically on the floor like we do. Our girls played their hearts out tonight and they were exhausted by the mid-4th. We were without Jackie, which would have helped immensely. Lexie and Devon both took really hard falls earlier (Devon was momentarily stunned by hers which was I think in the 2nd, and Lexie hit the floor hard on her butt in the 3rd) and Kiki was only about 75% after she did something to her knee in the first half. They were probably doing their level best and just didn't have anything left in the tank.

You also have to remember that Maryland routinely gets Top 100 recruits. EVERY YEAR. Shakira Austin is considered to be one of the best, and the Dukes put the hurt on her. Also they only pulled it out by 2......and they were ranked #8????? Come on, gang. It would have been a huge feather in our purple hats had we beaten them. We still sent them home bruised and bloody. They can't exactly hold their noses in the air after this. So stop it. Dammit, just STOP IT!

Not sure you can blame this loss on the refs.

Not having a player available maybe but Smalls being in foul trouble for most of the game didn't help and playing undisciplined like the Men did against UVa Sunday on the other side of the mountain didn't help. The only difference was the Women had a 19 point lead at one point.
