March 20, 2004
SportsLine.com wire reports
OWINGS MILLS, Md. -- The Baltimore Ravens re-signed linebacker Adalius Thomas to a three-year contract, a move that should provide depth to their defense and special teams.
Thomas spent the latter part of the 2003 season on injured reserve after undergoing elbow surgery. The sides reached an agreement Friday.
Thomas joined the Ravens as a sixth-round draft pick in 2000. He developed into a spot starter on defense and a force on special teams.
Thomas started 11 games last season, playing in 13 before breaking his elbow in a collision with teammate Ray Lewis on Dec. 7. He finished with 34 tackles on defense and 23 on special teams. He also blocked a kick.
