Look Back
Richmond was #2 in nation.
I was very excited about Connor Mitch and almost top 10 ranking.
If you had told me then how the next three years would unfold, I would not of believed it.

Speaking of Connor Mitch, I asked someone who played baseball with Connor what happened to him ( I live about 3 miles from his high school). He was unsure as to his current whereabouts, but did drop this nugget of info. Said Mitch had the temperament that would never allow him to be a backup player in ANY sport. Excelled at everything from grade school forward and was a bit of a sulker when things didn't go right.

Hard to believe RU was ranked #2 as recent as 3 years ago.
How do you win at RU and then suck at UD?
I would of thought UD was a easier place to succeed as a college football coach.

When a program has been in the cellar a while it can be tough to turn it around, look at ECU/Houston. I think ECU will/is improving, but until the Cincinnati game they looked pretty bad. A good HC still needs talented players, good assistants, and often need to make a deep “culture” change too.
Rocco is a decent coach, but whether or not he can fix the talent/culture type issues remains to be seen. Bringing in a solid OC in Ambrose didn’t seem to be a cure either. IMO it’s harder to completely turn around a “broken” team than it is to improve upon a decent/good one. Rocco probably gets there within a few years ... if they give him that much rope.

I thought after the game they played us pretty tough his first year, it would not be long. Now the fans are talking about firing him.
