Elon made 3 of 6.
Monmouth won 45-21 at Kennesaw State, giving the Big South a chance at an at-large bid. Kennesaw State is third, 1 game behind Campbell, but Kennesaw State is at Campbell next week and controls their own destiny to finish second. Monmouth and Campbell are undefeated in Big South games and play at Campbell in two weeks. If Kennesaw State beats Campbell, Campbell beats Monmouth, and all three win their other games, there could be a three-way tie with head-to-head 1-1 each. I remember when Stony Brook was in the Big South they had fewest points allowed in conference games as a tiebreaker.

Holy cow! We thought we had a pass D problem. #17 Cincy has allowed sorry a$$ ECU to pass for 443 yards, and it's still in the third quarter.

Sac State is a little crazy with their going for it on fourth down....they seem to do that a lot. Even at mid-field with 4 yards to go. In this case, Weber State stopped them.

Weber St up 16 to 10.

Wow! ECU now has over 500 yards passing, over 600 yards total offense for the game.... and they are losing! Four minutes left against #17 Cincy.

Weber State has knocked out the starting QB for Sac State (Kevin Thomson, who announcers earlier said could be the Big Sky player of the year). Will have to see if he returns in second half. Weber St up 23 - 10. They picked off the 2nd string QB in the endzone to stop Sac State drive.

Weber State has converted 27 out of 29 inside the red zone this year. 20 of those for TDs....according to the announcers on the Sac St Pluto feed.

Sac State was a 9 point favorite. Weber +9 appears to be a $ maker.

The fact that they had to struggle to beat a mediocre VT, and were up until last week considered a possible Playoff 4 team, is laughable. Overrated year after year..

Yep, I am pretty sure this is going to be the case for the rest of my life, at least. I love the movie Rudy but it puts them higher in the rankings every year than they really should be. The weird thing is they usually have one of the top recruiting classes every year and they're not that great.

It’s not even that.

It’s still harkening back to the four horsemen of whenever the hell that was. 1925? Or so?

Forget Rudy, this folktales been around since Ichabod Crane was running around.

No problem with people being diehards, but really? 5 generations?

I’m still hoping Nebraska or TU finally finds a pulse.

UR is also beating SB 20-10 right now. 2nd quarter.

Everyone says we will win out but I think our next two opponents are still tougher than originally expected and among the best in the conference. URI is the only gimme game of our final three.

I am with you. Saturday forecast calls for cold weather, hope we have a decent crowd.

And Richmond dominated SBU

Two big home games coming up

If you are Catholic, you love Notre Dame. The political power of the school is greater than any in the country. Just the way it is. Always has been this way.

They have played in more big bowl games and lost than any school in the history of college football. Not just lost but lost big. Still, their TV ratings remain high no matter how often they lose these games. ND makes money for the networks. That is the bottom line.

Regarding FCS I think folks may be underestimating the Montana schools- my sense is that they are more dangerous programs in the playoffs that Cal Davis, Sac State, etc.

RE: Week 10 CAA & Other Games of Interest
Yesterday blew up the CAA. We are now left with UR and UNH as one loss teams tied for second place. Both have FCS losses out of conference. In URs case, a bad loss to Fordham and a loss to Yale at home. I am left to feel that the CAA is weaker this year than in any year I can remember. Most years, only the CAA bottom dwellers would have out of conference losses. This year we have contenders with bad out of conference losses. Going to be ugly come at large time for the league. A whole bunch of average teams.

Does all this mean JMU is a paper lion? I sure hope not but it does worry me.

It’s no different than the mvc. Once they are all done playing each other, it will be one elite team and a bunch of solid teams that look weaker due to parity.

And most of fcs teams have an fbs loss. You take that out, and the fcs only records don’t look as bad.

This is pretty much what I thought before season started. I thought we would win caa easily but then next 6-7 spots were a crapshoot.

It’s not a reflection on us at all. I’ve watched some of these so called elite teams in other leagues and the caa teams after us don’t look any different than them.

Houston and his staff nearly beat #17 with a much worse set of players than JMU. If he had this year's JMU team, they would of won that game last night.

Additionally this week's Sagarins has us just a little behind Va Tech, and in front of Northwestern, Colorado, NC State, UMD.

With some additional scholarships, ability to attract higher caliber recruits, we could be a top 50 program much like is the case with Appy, even as a G5 program.

Dartmouth is down 6-3 and and they heave a hail mary TD pass to the endzone to win at the buzzer. I just had to trust that it happened though, since the camera man just failed to move the camera for the entire play. There was also no quality replay either to tell what happened other than a deflection somehow.

If only we didn't have Flo, everything would be unquestionably better.

Hey, I'd rather pay $5 a month for crappy camera work instead of $12.50 too. Welcome to FCS.

True. But, hey, we have playoffs, you know, like high schools have.

And the NFL... 02-13-banana

NDSU is amazing.

I know people knock them and say every year they are over rated, but they deserve all the praise in the world. This year they are doing it with a redshirt freshman at QB.

Their dominance from what I think is not a great state to recruit from is beyond belief.

Different coaches & different QBs - I can't recall something more impressive from a team sports standpoint in my lifetime. Bama, get's the cream of the crop. Patriots are with Brady & Belichick. Islander in the 80's were with one group of players.

I applaud NDSU 04-bow

They may not have a lot of recruits in North Dakota, but they get a fair share from California, which we all know is a hotbed of recruiting.

I think yesterday's Richmond/SBU was more a matter of the ticks hitting on all cylinders and the stoners not able to get out of their own way.

Tyquell Fields threw for under 50% and was eventually benched for a guy even worse than him.

I watched part of the game and Mancuso is Mr. Everything for the ticks. He threw for 318 yards at 77% and led all rushers (both teams) with 88 yards. He threw for two touchdowns and rushed for two. He is going to see a much different level of defense when he plays us.

Most of the ticks' wins have been close. Elon blew them out. They lost to Fordham and Yale, for crying out loud. Yale isn't too bad, but still an Ivy League team that any decent CAA team should have destroyed. But, Fordham? The ticks would have practically had to lay down on the turf to lose to Fordham, which has been clobbered by some pretty sad teams.

As always, anything can happen. We can have a terrible game, get hosed by the zebras, and the ball can bounce funny. But, all of those things would have to happen, IMO, for us to lose. Then again, all of those things did happen at Stony Brook and we still won.
