That is a big win for the new arena and huge home court advantage for the ladies program in 2021.
Now if we can just get the CAA men to move to a similar tourney model we might see the guys host in 2023 after the 3 year DC contract expires.

Does anyone know how many men’s conferences host their tourney on campus sites? Is it 30% or 40% ? Could be a good financial move for the CAA if it means a sweetheart deal with JMU to charge lower rental fees than the market rate. Win - Win

SMH- Nothing says small time like a conference playing their Championship game in a 4000 seat arena. Might as well play it in Godwin or Keezell.

Would be great at this point if the regular season champ got to host it. Not as good as the heydays of filling the Mauseleum, but has to be better than playing at the shoebox in Anacostia.

The timing of this going to the new arena is an additional benefit. I mean, this year we could potentially be starting 5 seniors (at least 4). We will lose a ton of production and experience heading into '20-'21. I by no means think the standard will be lowered. We should still be at the top of the CAA. Coach O has depth that can and will step in and he's in the process of signing a tremendous class that should start signing 2 weeks from today in fact when November signing period opens on the 13th. Having said that, it will be nice to have the CAAT on campus. Hopefully, the team will feed off of it when it rolls around in a couple of years.

It seems like in the past it was in two year blocks when held onsite. I guess they have switched to a single year rotation.

Which is nice......except I wish it was this year when we really have the team that can probably run the table. Well, we'll take it anyway. I'm just wondering if the women's team has the fans to fill the new arena. We do a pretty good job of filling the Convo Center and making a LOT of noise.....but will we get lost over there? Will they stash the Pep Band where they can't be heard? Stuff like that worries me.
