Ha ha! I suffered nunder the Central Kitchen and Joyce. One thing that drove me crazy was first time I had cornbread at Rice and bit into it and bleeech--Jalapenos in the cornbread! I wished they had an option of just plain sweet cornbread for those of us who didn't like the jalapenos in darn near everything (it seemed.)

Ya' know, the food at Rice nowadays is top-notch for the students, I understand. I think it was rated tops in the country by a rating service not too long ago. So we KNOW Rice CAN take something on-campus that totally stinks, for years and decades, even, and turn it into a National Champ. Imagine if Rice applied that logic to the gridiron endeavors instead of just reserving that kind of moxie for the food. (Also, remember the weight "room" (actually a cage) with all the old, rusted out weights? And the no-air conditioning racquetball courts? Rice fixed that too several years ago with the new Student Fitness center.

Point is...we know they can take a turkey and turn it into filet mignon...if they actually wanted to.

RE: Hello
Joyce was the Bo Hagan of food service managers. Gawd we could not stand her. "Students don't know what good food is." She actually said that in a KTRU interview.
