From the AJC:

Quote:Offensive line coach Calloway charged with DUI

From staff reports

Georgia's offensive line coordinator served a brief jail term last weekend after being arrested on a DUI charge in April, the Oconee County sheriff said this morning.

Neil Calloway, 47, was arrested by the Georgia State Patrol on April 18 near his Oconee County home, said Sheriff Scott Berry. Calloway was charged with driving under the influence-less safe; improper backing and possession of an open container. Under the DUI-less safe law, a person can be charged with DUI even if he is under the legal limit, so long as prosecutors can prove the person was drinking enough to be a hazard on the road.

He was sentenced to serve 24 hours in the county jail, said Berry. It was not immediately clear whether Calloway pleaded no-contest or guilty to the charges.

Callaway was hired in 2001 as Bulldogs offensive coordinator and offensive line coach.

A Macon native and University of Alabama graduate, Calloway was an assistant coach at Alabama from 1997 through 2000. He was offensive coordinator his last three years there. Prior to joining the Crimson Tide staff, he was assistant head coach and offensive coordinator at the University of Houston from 1993 to 1996.

He spent 15 years as one of Pat Dye's coaches, as a graduate assistant with Dye at East Carolina University in 1978, as offensive line coach at the University of Wyoming in 1979 and 1980 and as offensive line coach at Auburn University from 1981 to 1992.

Calloway played five different positions during his career with the Crimson Tide-guard, tackle, defensive end, nose guard and linebacker.

Something tells me Coach Richt isn't happy about this news... :eekblue:

I don't know Lucy. It's like a storm that's lasted 6 months and doesn't appear to be stopping.

There are people who say that the Dawgs don't remember how to handle handle success. I'm starting to think they are right. Hey, at least my 401k is starting to recover (my silver lining).
