If anything the majority of complaints on the offensive side is the play calling. Things seem to be getting better on that side too.

9. UNT - really surprised how bad they’ve turned out so far.
10. UNCC - moral victory @App State was the high point.
11. Rice

13. ODU - weakest offense in FBS?
14. UTEP

Last I saw we were 129 but that was last week. Don't know who the sorry sack is that's below us.

Gotta be UMass. And they are a sorry sack....

I felt bad for them.

Rutgers managed one yard passing this past week. 1 yard.

I hope your coaches feel the same way. I doubt that's the game plan the dogs employ, as grown men who know football will know better. But I do seriously hope that type of thinking prevails in Ruston for game prep this week!

You say “Smith Sucks”. Well if Smith “sucks” so does Abraham against decent competition.

Look I have seen both side by side throwing and IMO Smith is much more talented. Abraham throwing over 25 yards are floating INTs waiting to happen. Put pressure on him and make him throw deep. Can Tech execute? I dont know and Southern Miss might still kick our tails but their is an easy formula to win.

J'Mar definitely has a stronger arm than Abraham. J'Mar is also a better athlete. However, Jack's armstrength looks light years better than last season (and I'm sure 3 yrs ago at La Tech). I think a lot of that has to do with the confidence that he is playing with this season. If you force him to throw off of his back foot, he will float it some. Our WRs are good and Jack has done a fantastic job of getting them the ball.

I live in J'Mar's hometown and am a fan of his. He is well thought of in this area. I hope he has a great season, with the one exception being this Saturday. I think he is a better fit in a Skip Holtz offense than Jack, and that Jack us a better fit in the Southern Miss offense.

I'm looking forward to a great game Saturday on the NFL network. Hopefully there will be no injuries and the Black and Gold will get the W.

We are Alabama Lite. Jack only has to throw the ball 10-15 yards and let our speedy receivers go. YAC is high with our receivers...same as Tua who mostly throws short passes and let's his speedy receivers get YAC. It's a winning formula and you do not need a strong arm to look great b/c it's the receivers that make Jack and Tua look great.

JMar beat Abraham out for the starting position when he was at Louisiana Tech. Abraham wanted to play immediately, so he transferred. That's it. Plenty of drama experts on this board though. lol

Agree with everything you said except the Black and Gold win. I have no animosity towards Jack and it should be a great game. Hope the weather is good and there is a good crowd. Hope many Southern Miss. fans make the trip also. This is a big game. Can't wait!

Ive been Jack's biggest critic. He was terrible last year throwing it further than 15 yards down the field. He has improved a lot the last few games and is throwing it with a lot more zip thankfully. The new OC is also making a big difference from the last few years. The Oline is better than last year. We also have the best receiving group in the the conference. I do not see La Tech slowing down our passing game and they can't stay with our WRs.

You said Abraham sux against decent competition. La Tech is not Alabama or MSU. Its arguable that La Tech is decent then. Is Troy or North Texas? Both got lit up and I see your defense getting the same dose. Again, this coming from Jack's biggest critic.

Our receivers make Jack look really good...like I said above. Jack is very accurate. He does not have a strong arm...he doesn't need to. Our play calling reflects his strengths. That is why we have had recent success. Speed and Mills Kills.

No I didn’t say that. I was repeating what USM fans have said on here, Smith has “limitations” or Smith “sucks”.

Cmon if someone thinks Smith has “limitations” surely you realize Abraham has serious “limitations” also.

Thats good about USM WR corp, Tech secondary is senior laden and CUSA 1st defense Robertson need to play up. We will see

Can you. link me to a post where a USM fan has said "Smith sucks" like you're claiming or are you still grasping for straws?

Also, what QB doesnt have limitations?

RE: CUSA Power Rankings 10/13 Week 8
My take:

1. USM - Until someone knocks them off this perch that they have occupied (in my mind) since beating Troy
2. FAU - Impressive defensive display against MTSU. We'll see if strong defensive play continues against Marshall Friday
3. WKU - They keep on winning. Should win Saturday against Charlotte, as well.
4. LT - Hung 69 on UMass. This alone is not enough to be moved into top 3.
5. UAB - Lurking just below the top 4 teams
6. FIU - Panthers need to prove they belong here. A couple of wins may have saved their season.
7. MTSU - Couldn't get past FAU's defense.
8. Marshall - couldn't get past MTSU's defense. Big game coming up Friday in Boca.
9. Rice - still winless but competitive in every game
10. UNT - Third year in a row, Littrell has failed to institute a defense.
11. UTSA - Offense?
12. Charlotte - early season credit was, mostly, undeserved.
13. UTEP - Another regrettable season
14. ODU - Regressed this season. HC - on the hot seat.
