Yeah, but wildfires are different from electricity outages.

You don't see Arizona, Texas, New Mexico, Utah, Idaho, or Nevada cutting off electricity to whole cities of 100,000+ people to avoid a risk of wildfire. The very idea is asinine. Turning off the electricity means thousands of generators run by amateurs, which probably increases the overall fire risk in the state.
