Drove through the 'burg last week and stopped at the bookstore. Is it me, or does the new logo look terrible on merchandise? It looks washed out and like something you would see in Wal-Mart and not on a Nike branded shirt.

Thoughts?

The new logo? I'd admit havent been back in a while until the pilgrimage to watch the beatdown of Richmond next month, but have always been happy with our merch (minus the hats... we need better hats)

While I'm very happy with the brand overhaul (death to the skinny-leg M), I agree with you. Stopped by the bookstore when I was home 2 weeks ago, and anything that is embroidered (ie, Nike 1/4 zips, etc), the purple appears almost pink, especially in cases where the logo is embroidered on black/dark fabric. I also noticed this on HCCC's pullover from the game Saturday at SBU. Not sure if it's the mixing of the purple and gold thread during the stitching process, but the purple doesn't look strong at all. It seems to be a non-issue on screen prints and decals.

I'm not saying I didn't still spend $353.70 that day, just that I had a similar observation, only in a small subset of Dukes merch.

I personally haven't noticed it but I'll look again. I got a new nike pullover that's a "carbon grey" (I think that's what Nike calls it anyway) so it might be noticeable on that. Overall agree that the "new" branding is sooo nice.

Hadn't thought much about the color issue, but the logo font is a massive upgrade over the bunched-up, dirty "M" in the old logo. So much cleaner looking and I know JMU said the old one was disaster specifically for embroidery purposes with vendors.
