Interesting Stats from UCF Freshmen QB Dillon Gabriel
As many know, many QB passing yards end up after quick slants or even WR screens (sometimes behind the line of scrimmage).

Interesting stats on how much of Gabriel's yardage is from passes thrown down field, which is almost becoming rare in the college (and even in the NFL).

While he still has a TON to learn in regards to reading defenses, know when to scramble, audibilizing and improving accuracy on other routes...at least he is off to a strong start as a true freshmen.

It’s a product of the offense.

Heup is more of a run and shoot kinda guy this season. We are seeing a lot more runs up the gut and then big downfield throws to change the pace.

Not sure if this is because he's phasing out the Frost offense more in his 2nd year.
Maybe he's doing it to adapting the playbook to the talent we have this season.

We have been pretty lucky lately to have some much talent in our QB room.

Kid's a very good QB, with the potential to be a very good QB by time he's a junior/senior (could possibly go NFL route after his junior year). NFL potential in my book. You guys have a good one.

I have to watch the game again. I want to know if he hands off rather than running on most RPO plays.

UCF is cranking out the quarterbacks.

UCF had a recent stretch when they won 4 straight regular season games with 4 different starting QBs

2018
at usf: McKenzie Milton
Memphis AAC Champ Game: Darriel Mack

2019
FAMU: Brandon Wimbush
FAU: Dillion Gabriel

I doubt any time in UCF history they could have had a stretch like that with quality QB depth (which is needed because of obvious injuries to Milton and Mack...and then a true freshmen beat out a 5th year Senior Transfer).

You can never EVER have too much quality QB depth (every team has QB depth...QUALITY depth is the hard part).

Considering until 2017 with Milton's SO season that we've had pretty much the worst QB in the league since 2005 with the exception of 2012-14, I'd say we've earned a run of good QBs.

We haven't even mentioned Quadry Jones, who in his limited playing time still has yet to throw an incompletion and whose first pass ever resulted in a 70-yard TD pass.

You can add in Godfrey in 2010. He was really good as a freshman.

Postseason includes any tournaments. Championship games are, by definition, tournaments.

Regular season games consist of regularly scheduled competition. Championship games are not regularly scheduled.
