Not sure how often that happens, but my impression of Clemson just went way up.

RE: How Clemson could help Western Michigan upset Syracuse
Lester mentioned his trip to Clemson in one of his earlier press conferences. He's also mentioned last year that he models the offense after Clemson. Tulsa and ASU has a combined 296 total yards against the MSU defense. WMU? 352 total yards. There is no question we can move the ball, the question is if the defense can progress to the point where we can stop enough opposing offenses where we don't need to try to outscore them. I really believe the defensive unit is starting to come together. -- and I like the fact that we have one more game before MAC play. I also believe the special teams units are far better than last year -- which was a real thorn in our side.

First, this was posted today. The line's not 4. It opened at 4. Average line after is 6 (

Quote from Lester:
Quote:"But they’ve got a good run game... We have to stop that."

Ummm, compared to who? Our D? I guess almost everyone does. But here's Syracuse's stats on running:

vs Liberty: 4.4 yds/carry [OTHERS vs LIBERTY: Louis-Laf: 8.8 yds/carry; Buffalo: 4.7 yds/carry]
vs Maryland: 2.4 yds/carry [OTHERS vs MARYLAND: Howard: 0.0 yds/carry; Temple: 3.8 yds/carry]
vs Clemson: 0.4 yds/carry [OTHERS vs CLEMSON: GTech: 3.5yds/carry; TexAM: 2.0yds/carry]

I don't see Syracuse's running game all that grand. But they will probably get their best yds/carry against us. We just gotta keep it down to under 7.

How come it feels we have better relationships with Southern Cal and Clemson than Michigan & Michigan St???

Pretty sure Michigan and MSU have no interest in seeing another successful program in the state. MSU will cite their agreement to come to our stadiums as evidence otherwise, but the reality is that was a financial decision for them.

Why would they? Especially after 2016, they're likely scared.
