This was always going to be a rough week. Best teams are either off or (outside of Troy) playing FBS Teams. Teams near the bottom are playing good G5 schools.

Lots of road games as well. Though I give GSU a chance against WMU.

if GSU beats Western Michigan, I'll be extremely impressed with their season, no matter what happens. You'll probably see Georgia State even start to get a vote or two in the Coaches' Poll.

Our (WMU) defense is terrible.

Guess Vegas is calling this a coin flip giving Troy -3 at home. Troy having the week off to prepare for a team that hasnt looked very impressive in the first two weeks of the season. Troy covers 34-24

Arkansas State
Georgia 7-7 in the second against Murray State. Had to kick on the game for all of 10 mins. 4 Tds later Georgia had finally woken up. Ark St seemed to be pretty impressive in dominant win at UNLV with a PK line. Georgia will not look past Ark St and Kirby will have the Dawgs come out with a little more fire in the first half. Georgia wins big 51-10

Memphis -20

I am really intrigued by this game. Being a ULM fan we have Memphis coming in a few weeks to Monroe. USA was scrappy in Lincoln game 1. Didnt get to see the Jackson State game. Does USA hold up on the perimeter against Memphis team looking to put it all together. Defensive looked real against Ole Miss, Defense not so much against Southern. I think USA is scrappy enough defensively to keep it close enough and maybe back door the cover. Memphis 37-20

Will the real Georgia Southern please stand up. Have a feeling Georgia Southern can get the running game going and keep the sticks moving. This is a complete 180 defensive gameplan from previous weeks for Minnesota. Grind the Gophers down, keep it close and think they steal a win here. Georgia Southern 24-21.

Texas State
Had a chance to see SMU play. They are tough once they get it going offensively. Texas State played so well most of the game against Wyoming. Not enough Offense here for Texas State to keep up. SMU 48-21

WMU -11
Georgia State
Western Michigan got pounded by Michigan State. Never really got anything at all going. Who are you Georgia State? A team that went into Knoxville and beat at the time a projected 7 win Tennessee team or a team that squeeked by against far inferior opponent. I think athletic play at the QB position keeps this a one score game with Western holding on late. 35-31 Western

The flip side of the bye week is having a new coaching staff. They have two games under their belt where we only have one. They are a good team defensively, and have showed signs of life on offense, but they do have Buster Faulkner, so we'll have to see how this shakes out.

Troy does have a winning record against Buster Faulkner offenses.
