"The deadliest conflict in human history began exactly 80 years ago. On Sept. 1, 1939, Nazi Germany invaded Poland. Britain and France came to Poland’s defense, and suddenly World War II was underway. Estimates of civilian and military deaths in the war go as high as 85 million.

Could there be a World War III?..."

And the Holocaust was no secret to the Americans and British.
"...By the end of 1942, however, there was little doubt what was happening. On 13 December 1942, the celebrated US journalist Ed Murrow gave Churchill’s “crime without a name” a clear framing in a radio broadcast.

“Millions of human beings, most of them Jews, are being gathered up with ruthless efficiency and murdered,” he said. “The phrase ‘concentration camps’ is obsolete… it is now possible only to speak of extermination camps...."”

To read that and think of the gall of that moron AOC to call millennials the greatest generation is appalling. The true greatest generation, our grandparents and great grandparents, saved the world. I can’t think of one thing millennials have done except complain. Now if the ***** (female dog) had called them the whiniest generation, I would agree with her. That in itself makes me sick to my stomach

You should read the history of the St. Louis (a ship). We knew in 1939 what was happening to the Jews and when a ship load of them wanted to come to here and they were sent on to South America.

What happened in WWII at the leadership levels was almost as appalling as what we are experiencing today globally. The difference was in the U.S. where people were decent and when their sense of propriety was violated by the news abroad our outrage was singular. We were united like at no time in our history. And only in modern times where the media gives equal weight to 5% of the radical voices and to the 70% of those who are not extremist would it have been reported as otherwise.

The media creates the false perception today of disunity and of course it is taught by the many cults of victimization which then becomes a life long excuse to do nothing for those who adhere to it. America still has a core of unity, but because those citizens aren't violent, and aren't vocal, they get no press.

If there is a WWIII thanks to the radical left, the news media, and the leniency on draft dodgers during the Viet Nam war, I'm afraid I have my doubts about our ability to raise a unified response. And that's not a knock on our very well trained professional military. And IMO the Millennials are perhaps the most unstable and ill prepared (as a group) as any generation of Americans we've had. And their ability to respond to a crisis is very much in doubt.

I hope I'm wrong but my head and my gut are in agreement on this. They are confused lambs, who without being taught the truth or how to think for themselves, were raised for the slaughter.

I agree very much with you JR. My two grandsons who are the classic Millenials are now starting to see themselves in a different future. The youngest now wants to join the AF and is studying his Abvabs or whatever they're called. The oldest seeing his little brother so interested in the military went to the Marine recruiter and now his status is pending because of some trouble he got into years back. I have no idea the extent but if he's trying to make amends I'm all for that. They are my oldest son's kids and he retired as a Marine. He's now working doing the same job he worked during the Marine stint. God is looking out for him.

I know of only two millennials who have joined the military. Sad.

The greatest generation failed in one huge area. Too many of them neglected to pass those great values on to their children.

Ironically, the greatest generation raised the worst.

Not really. Some of them turned out to be colossal a-holes to be sure. But many of them were among the ~55,000 that gave their lives in Viet Nam from 66-72. Many more did well in business. But the generation raised by the Greatest Generation were split. And after Viet Nam there were more of the narcissistic ones left and most of them dodged the war by going to grad school after undergraduate and if needed staying for a doctorate. Those were the ones who became educators and have poisoned the minds of our children with the justifications for their failures and cowardice.

Nah, just didn't pass on the parenting skills too often.

Nah, just didn't pass on the parenting skills too often.

Do you know why? Boomer households were largely 2 paycheck. Boomer's did as well as they did because they had a nuclear family with lots of face time with the parents. But Boomer households utilized daycare through high school to take care of the kids so somebody else had them for the majority of the day. And when mommy and daddy got home from work and picked them up they ate out more than they ate at home and when they got home the kids went to their bedrooms to watch TV and family time, even around the tube, declined. When the computer and computer games came of age it was even less, and the advent of the cell phone was the coup de grace. If you don't spend time with your kids how can you pass on values? And if you don't spend time with your kids how can you find out what kind of garbage they are being taught at school? Kids are going to trust the adults they spend the most time with and that's not the parents.

Good points.

And its all that times 10 with the smart phones. Many people don't even engage when they are out to dinner. They look at their phones. If the Blackberry was a "crackberry," what does that make the i-phone? Heroiphone?

People eating dinner out together while they are all individually on their phones drives me nuts. Why the heck dine together when you aren't conversing with each other? That's not dining it's just eating.

All very true! And what that means is that those who have your children's attention for the majority of the day are their teachers, and FaceBook, and Google, and Apple, and Amazon, and the other minions of their friends who have all been programmed the same way. And that's why the Left wants to give the vote to younger people. They own them!

When I was their age if I wanted to speak to my buddies we went hunting or fishing or had a pick up game of the sport in season. When I wanted to speak to my girlfriend I asked her out and we talked during the date. None of my friends lived on the phone and all we had was a land line upgrade from a party line.

The cure for all of this is to dial back the time and ditch the technology. Spend the first hour after work with our children and get them to talk about their day so we know what's going on in their lives and what they are being taught. If we all do that this hive mind will go away. And we'll quit feeding one of the beasts that is feasting on us and replacing our values with theirs.

Of course it is impossible to put the genie back in the bottle, but I have completely bailed from all social media except this. Leaving FB was one of the better things I have done. If I want to talk to someone I can do it by phone or in person.

I had to get onto my wife the other day. She texted my son about something. He was upstairs. REALLY?

I stuck with the flip phone for a long time. I didn't want to have all that access. It gave me everything I needed. And it was cheap. But eventually I let them get me a smart phone.
