1) Love the new sound system but microphones need a lot of work and the echos are really bad
2) Highlight was the lights show after ice-cream and cake to start 2nd half. Also the Norfolk State Half time show. Our Band did a good job as well,
3) NO build up on the team entrance to crazy train. I wish we entered after the visitors entered. I hate the fact that there is this let down before kick off.
4) What are the new traditions ? We need a chant for each ODU kickoff. How about raising the 12th Monarch Flag to start of the 4th quarter with a pride of lions on the new video board roaring
5) Please do not show the flag team in the stands and our drum majors need to stop the baton twirling if they can't catch it. They are so hard to watch.
6) Bottom line .... the stadium is very nice but we have a long way to go to build an engaged crowd. DJ was a good start.
7) would love to see the "we are" ..."monarchs" east / west stands chant brought back
8) No howitzer ?

We don’t need to ever let a team with a better band than us perform again.

It gives them credibility from the very beginning and keeps their fans engaged.

I understand trying to build Norfolk camaraderie, but this is college football... not little league.

Similar feedback. I think the dj got his wirleess mic straight by the end of the game but it was dropping.

Good idea letting visitors enter then do our thing.

That was a pleasant surprise! A shame the intro didnt rival VT at all. Lots of hype and bold statement there.

But overall such a drastic improvement to game experience. I'm back home and my back isn't in knots.

Thought it was fine. But Harry shouldnt have hyped it up bc we were all expecting something else. Light show was awesome

Im hoping some kinks are worked out in 3 weeks. Love the new digs and really like my seats.

Same. Stoked on the views and overall it's a wonderful stadium. I was down looking for my brick when everyone was stomping on a 3rd down and man that is loud. I really want to know how it sounds down on the field. ECU could be crazy loud.

And yes he should have never come out and said that. I get where his heart is in saying that tho.

We are in 112 and the speakers only work for the refs. No music, no Jack (that’s probably ok), no anything besides the refs.

I was above you in 212 and the sound system sounded wonderful. Clear and music had plenty of bass. Minus djs mic issues.

Agreed - their band dominated the final two quarters and lifted the NSU players and their fans. We should never let that happen again. Never. But - make no mistake - their band is bad A.

NSU band is so awesome. Ours is a total letdown after their performance. Our band trying to dance was embarrassing.

The video board and ribbons were great and we can do so much with them. The replays were quicker and better. The camera crew much better. Sound system in 217 was very good. Thought the DJ is a good add. The students showed up, stayed and were great. The crowd was not as loud as I hoped and seemed not as engaged as years past. We were MUCH louder during the FCS playoff game with NSU. The timing of the intro is off. Let the visitors come out first. Who designed the concession stands right by the front gate needs to be made to stand in line.

Yes, never again. I was ticked off when their band dominated the second half and our crowd. Great way to take away the home field advantage.

You are absolutely correct. It works up there. We could hear the muffled sound (your good sound) for music and Jack from the uppers. Our speakers only came on when the refs talked. Hope that’s an easy fix.

Sound system was great from 206, ref’s mic volume was low. Overall great though.

Dr. Chandler, will some please tell the team to let the music and anticipation build before entering the field. You don’t come out on the first note. Let the fans get into it first. Anticipation by the fans is what makes an entrance.

So acoustically speaking, was their band in a better position where they were situated in the NEZ (aside from being bigger/better/more enthused)? If so, rethink and put our band between the uprights and play into the horseshoe as opposed to across it for the rest of the home games.
