Monday and Tuesday!! The Commish said there is no timetable for making a decision, I think we had guessed that by now!! :D He said there were a number of schools that had expressed interest in joining. UNT and La Tech have expressed the most interest. The SMU president said, one of the reasons he is backing La Tech is because Tulane is and Tulane was a big backer of SMU when it was trying to get into CUSA. The UNT AD said they would be a great choice because the in-state rivalries would benefit the league. The other teams mentioned are UTEP, Temple, Toledo, and Ohio U. Obviously La Tech has more backing than just the other WAC additions since the Tulane president is also backing them!! Maybe by next Tuesday, some real, legitimate, leaks will occur so there will be less guessing or BSing on the fan boards!!!!!!!

I have this expansion thing figured out. North Texas(UNT) gets the invite by default. The Western Division Presidents won't vote for UTEP, the Eastern Division Presidents won't vote for La Tech, so UNT is the compromise winner. Of course I'm being facetious, but I wouldn't bet against it a 100%, maybe 99%!!! Tulane's President had stated from the start he wanted a pretty tightly knit group and if Tulane, SMU, Rice and Tulsa vote against UTEP, I don't know if they get in. The Presidents and the AD's are a completely different group of folks, with somewhat different reasons for doing things!! I wouldn't anoint UTEP a 100% just yet!!!!!!
