Ahhh...

A uniform thread at last 03-wink

<a href='http://greenvilleonline.com/news/sports/2003/05/19/200305196791.htm' target='_blank'>http://greenvilleonline.com/news/sports/20...00305196791.htm</a>

I was always frustrated not being able to know who was who out there. I welcome the change. If they perform badly this year though - make them earn it again.

Lou, Lou, Lou........why didn't you do this earlier? Now we don't know if this change will make it into NCAA 2004!!! 03-cool

Just kidding. I like the change......Another thing I noticed by looking at preview pics from NCAA 2004 (which usually has pretty accurate uniform representation) is that the numbers on the jersey seem to be in a different typeface or style this year......almost Miami-like.

I wonder what the deal is with the socks? By "pro" socks do they mean the long socks? I kinda like the long ones, but I guess it does get hot wearing those things.

It worries me a little. Not that the changes are bad in themselves, but it makes me apprehensive that Lou might be going soft. We don't need for him to be going soft.

I don't know KW, maybe some recruits will be more attracted to USC due to this change, if Lou does keep this option in the future.

Yeah, KW, that thought crossed my mind, too. I don't know.

But I think last year showed there were some coaching problems that went well beyond anything as superficial as jersey design. We'll see.

But that was the most disturbing thing to me last season..........the coaching. As long as that improves, I don't care whether the names are the players' backs or not. But it wouldn't surprise me if the recruiting factor influenced Lou a bit on this one, though he appears to be doing fine as it is.

:stupid:

Just kiddin' Gal.

Will Lou ever get rid of his no-dreads policy?

If THAT happens, we KNOW the world has turned upside down. The only thing left would be for Lou himself to convert to Rastafarianism...........it might intimidate the opposition, though! Think of it......Lou with dreads.........Yow!

Jersey design is superficial?

No way, man. Like Lou, you're getting soft on us, Gal.

LOL.......

I actually WOULD like to know what the deal is with the socks. I like the long socks, but I remember wearing those things in high school. All teams wore the long socks in those days..........but even on a Friday night in October, they could get uncomfortable.

I take it from this article they're considering going to the short socks like Tennessee and Florida wear? I think Georgia wears 'em too. Now that I think of it, I can't think of too many other schools, particularly in the hot SEC, who wear long socks anymore. LSU wears the short ones........not sure about Kentucky.....Ole Miss and MSU wear the short socks........Maybe Auburn still wears long white ones? Not sure..... 03-confused

Well....yeah! Back in the 70s/early 80s, long socks and white shoes were the thing.........nowadays the short socks/black shoes thing seems to be more popular.

Some schools never left the black shoes look (USC-West, Michigan, Cal, Notre Dame, Penn State, etc.). Others, like South Carolina, have used both.....

Hey, I'm a graphics guy. I tend to notice these things!!
