Anger may have been stoked by cops earlier using pepper spray to disperse crowds who were barbecuing and picnicking as part of a “Marcy Day” celebration, residents said.

The after-effect of the pepper-spraying was captured on video posted to Instagram. It shows angry residents trying to flush the chemicals from their faces and skin with milk.

“Everyone was just having their fun, no gang-banging… everyone sitting around, enjoying Marcy Day,” said a woman who lives in Marcy Houses.

“Everyone having cookouts and stuff,” said the woman, who asked not to be named.

The incredible disconnect between 'nobody was doing anything and the cops just came in pepper-spraying everyone' and 'what a reasonable person would do or believe'.

Either the people are lying or the cops, and likely of many races, are completely out of control, en masse

It's funny that violent places like Portland and New York are run by Leftist mayors. It seems to be the norm.

Yes something doesn't add up. The witness / "victim" account is that they just showed up and started shooting (so to speak).

More than likely there was some complaint, they showed up to ask questions and were probably met with a number of F-U's and threats....

There had to be some level of provocation leading up to the pepper spraying.

No.. According to some here, cops are just meanie heads who hate black people and try to kill all they see.

I watched a video the other night... from the UK. Cops 'behind' their cruiser... not as in hiding, but as in 'west' of their cruiser... guy is walking towards them from the east, then as he approaches the car, makes a quick move around the car towards them as if to jump one of them... who sprays him. The guy essentially balls up and starts rubbing his eyes. Moments later, you see a fat white girl slowly approach the cops and eventually literally get in their faces.... pointing fingers, I'm sure saying awful things.

Maybe she just didn't see the guy lunge at the cops... I don't know... but what I know is that she assumed she knew everything she needed to know to draw a conclusion

I compare this to the video of the Yankees GM who complied with cops who had a mistaken identity/stolen car. Total class act there.
