RE: Home Sweet Home
I foresee basically another version of the CUSA from it's prime, maybe slightly stronger.

RE: Home Sweet Home
that's a league that was able to get top 10 teams in football and 1 seeds in basketball- along with 6 teams in the tourney. clearly better than what has become of the A10.

I take that back, maybe not quite as strong. I don't know what you're implying with the A-10 thing, but what I said wasn't meant as a knock on the AAC. The C-USA was a good league, as you illustrated.

Your record versus SMU
Hook. Line. Sinker. My whole comment was merely a trap to find out who the big baby was on the AAC board who blocked me there since I figured that they would follow me over here. Now I know. Apparently viewpoints that don’t worship at the AAC altar are not welcome (mine were respectful, by the way, until the pack ambush on me over there).
Man, you guys need to get a life over there. It is just sports, kid. SMU isn’t making a P5 league either. Accept it and be happy in life. Unlike us, though, you don’t have a great league to rejoin. Life will still go on, though.

SMU and Houston and the other southern schools should remake the Southwest Conference. I know you'd be missing Texas, but it'd still be a good league

The fact that someone could preside over that tournament and turn around and call themselves a "Power 6" conference is incredible. Those tournaments make the A-10 tourney look like saturday night at The Garden
If you take away media and families are there even 100 fans there?

The AAC can totally match that CUSA. Already there in football- if not frankly probably stronger already. In basketball, these last 2 years- they got 3 and 4 teams in the tourney. With a lot of injuries, and a down UConn. Going to be key to see who replaces UConn in basketball. It's a clear cut top 7 conference.

It's what happens when there is no regional balance added to the fact that no casual basketball fan cares about the league

Exhibit A why the C7 made the unified effort to separate from football after the new additions were called-up. No matter how much any one can argue about markets, recruiting areas or program potential, nothing can take away from the fact that half of what is now the AAC simply do not care about and/or prioritize basketball. Take USF, for example, who were members of the Big East from 2005-2013: even when they made the tournament in 2012, advancing to the round of 32 - winning over 20 games, they still could not draw 4,000 fans on average to games. UCF, which had its greatest season in program history, still couldn't even reach 5,000 fans per game.
If the hybrid had continued, there is no doubt the opening round attendances would have been very weak at MSG, especially if it had been any of the South/West schools matched up against each other. I also doubt that the tournament's attendance would have been as high.
