Google censors those who oppose political correctness
https://americanmind.org/discourse/algor...ppression/

This got the Claremont Group thinktank censored:

"...As I wrote in the very essay that Google is now telling us to remove from the public square: By multiculturalism, we do not mean the mere presence of many cultures, races, or ethnic traditions, which are a fixture of modern American life… One of America’s—and Americanism’s—great virtues has always been the maintenance of a wide realm of liberty and civic society in which a vibrant mix of cultural heritages and individual excellence could flourish…. Multiculturalism, on the other hand, is not this benign tolerance of diverse traditions. Multiculturalism is a comprehensive ideology, demanding obeisance to a rigid system of justice, vices, and virtues. It boasts an intellectual tradition that guides its leadership and adherents in the policing of its boundaries and the maintenance of its categories. It keeps a running list of friends and enemies, a roster of praise, shame, and blame….

I went on to make the case against multiculturalism, identity politics, and political correctness—the holy trinity of the modern left. Claremont stands against modern leftist ideology and politics, with its conception of group rather than individual rights, because it seeks to overturn the notion of American justice based on equal protection of equal individual rights that is at the center of the Declaration of Independence...."

No appeal, no questioning. Although apparently Google realized they went too far and later removed the censorship. Google's algorithms are clearly written to censor conservative thought.

RE: Google censors those who oppose political correctness
"Google’s Acting Director of Political and Stakeholder Outreach"

George Orwell just produced a sonic boom from exceeding Mach 1.

I'd also like to denote that I got sick and tired of dealing with Google with ads on this site. This specific board (and its subs) are the only place left on the site where ONLY Google ads are served. Everywhere else on this site Google is forced to bid in real time against almost a dozen other major advertisers. Google started putting the squeeze on AdSense publishers somewhere around 2 years ago. Amazingly when I forced them to bid to win back site traffic, they were willing to pay more than they were previously while only getting 35-40% of traffic instead of 100%. What a coincidence. Google still flags at least one thread a week on this board and disables ad serving on it, typically for snowflake and PC reasons. I get that advertisers don't want their logo on political content they don't vet in advance most of the time and for most advertisers (there are exceptions obviously). But I also felt like the content they chose to disable ad serving on was clearly slanted.

My goal is to be Google free by the end of 2020 in my private life. It's a lot harder than you think.

What issues are you having with it? Curious.

I've tried Bing and its just an awful search engine. It appears to be heavily tilted towards those who pay. What you want to find, you have to search deep down for.

That's the thing, the reason it's 800 lb gorilla is that it IS the best search engine. I've tried others and their results are lacking to say the least.

Makes me wonder why someone who politically leans center/right and has mad programming skills doesn't create a search engine to compete.

They'd make a KILLING.

I can go to work, come home to hang out drinking beer and grilling on the patio and not have to worry one bit about political correctness or multiculturalism for any of it. Nothing Google can do about it either. Lol

Smartphones. You'll want a smartphone that is well supported by LineageOS (open source android), as well as *not* installing GApps.

GMail. It's impossible to run your own hosted email these days unless you want a part time job in spam filtering and emailing major corporate networks to get yourself unfiltered.

It's easy to remove google from your search and online tracking life. Those two though require some effort.

Returns a fraction of the results of google but they don't track you, or so they claim.

They proxy Google search results for you. But obviously they don't have "personalized" search results like Google normally gives you when you search directly.

It's a small price to pay for not being tracked.

I've noticed they've gotten markedly better over time. And yeah it requires some effort to dig a little deeper but it's worth it.
