Is 'Jeopardy' prodigy James Holzhauer drawing interest from MLB front offices?

Is cool watching this guy actually play the game the way it's supposed to be played. I'm a bit of a Jeopardy whiz and I've always selected the bottom questions first and bet as much as possible or feasible on the daily double. It's just been instinctual for me as I'm definitely no analytics or math whiz. Nice to see I wasn't wrong in this regard. Family has always told me that I needed to go audition but the opportunity has never come up.

How exactly have you done this without being on the show? 03-wink

FWIW - A gal that sings in the local choir I'm in was a 2-day champion a few years back.
Wait..

Stink, this reminded me of a certain lizard in Thailand that someone had told me about but I was skeptical until I heard it. I heard with my own ears and I still thought someone was playing a joke on me. But nope, there actually is a F U lizard.

What he's doing more than anythint is rattling the other players early and making them lose focus. The other night he won the game by only I believe $18 over and older guy who wasn't letting himself get rattled and desperate.

By starting with the harder $1,000 and $800 questions (and getting most or all of the ones he is called for correct) he establishes a lead early on that the other players find hard to catch up since only the smaller values are left. Also, by pushing all-in on whatever the first Daily Double he gets is, he jumps wayy ahead when he gets it, and if he doesn't he figures he's good enough that he'll still get more questions correct even if he starts again from zero, as the other players would not be too far ahead at that point.

Like Luke at the first Death Star, one has to calm themselves and ignore what he's doing and just calmly play their own game to beat him. He can be defeated, but it won't be easy. May the Force be with you!

Quote:The professional sports gambler — who’s so good he’s been blackballed from betting at some Las Vegas casinos — has rewritten the “Jeopardy!” playbook with an aggressive, analytical style that’s earned him more than $1.582 million over 20 shows.

That adds up to $79,100 per episode, or $158,200 per hour if we’re considering the full 30-minute air time of an episode of the game show.

The other thing he will do is change categories often. You'll almost never see anyone run a whole category when he is playing. He exploits the advantage of knowing what the next question is about before his opponents when he controls the board.

Hell of a compelling concurrent storyline with Trebeck and Holzhauer at the same time.

I'll say it now.. when we lose Alex, i don't want anyone to replace him, as much as I'll miss the show.

I read an interview with Trebek and he said that was his biggest pet peeve of contestants. But, this is good for the show.

James Holzhauer Passes $2,000,000

James Holzhauer has entered the Jeopardy! history books once again, reaching $2,065,535 with his 27th consecutive win. He’s only the second contestant ever to pass $2,000,000 during a winning streak. The first? You guessed it: Ken Jennings, whose 74-game total capped at $2,520,700. In fact, he’s the lone contestant to have won more games and more money than James. Think James can catch up? Take a look at the stat-for-stat comparison of these two prolific players.

They even have a separate tracker page set up for him now:

Down goes Holzhauer! Down goes Holzhauer! Down goes Holzhauer!

Jennings record is safe.

Pretty incredible story all the way around but the to hear that neither Holzhauer nor the new champ got any question wrong makes it even more impressive.

It was a great run!
