I knew USM has had some recent success against MTSU but had no idea it was this one sided lately.

From MTSU’s game notes:
The Golden Eagles have dominated the Blue Raiders of late. Their winning streak currently sits at 14 games against the Blue Raiders.

Really doesn't surprise me that Southern Miss has owned MT in baseball. We have sucked for the last 3+ years and those Golden Buzzards seem to have have had (and still have) a solid program on the diamond. Kudos to the birds! Maybe we can win one out of three.

The way we have been playing this year there is no telling the outcome of this series.

Rice beats LA Tech
USM beats MT

WKU beats UTSA

Charlotte beats FIU 6-3.

Rice beats Louisiana Tech 4-2 on a 3-6 triple play on the final play of the game. It was 4-0 Rice heading into the 9th, and the Bulldogs had scored two runs, and had another two guys on base before the final play. It was a bunt attempt that the first baseman made a super play to dive and catch, and then he threw to short for the last two outs.

Tough week for Louisiana Tech. Sorry, but the Owls need all the wins they can get too.

Rice then won the game on a game-ending triple play after the LA Tech batter popped up a bunt with two men on.

USM up 11-3 after 8 in Saturday’s game at MTSU. Unless our pitchers implode this will clinch the series and will be 16 straight wins for us vs MTSU

Bad weekends for FAU and LA Tech are definitely a Good News-Bad News deal for USM. Good News: 2-game in lead in conference. Bad News: We probably need Top 50 wins more than a regular season conference title, and FAU and Tech losses hurt there.

LA Tech is now right on the edge of dropping out of the Top 50 and doing so would cost USM 3 of its 4 Top 50 wins. Every bad loss for FAU pulls them further and further away from the Top 50, preventing an opportunity for us to pick up some big wins.

ODU takes the series with 7-2 and 12-6 wins at FAU. Series concludes at noon today.

USM sweeps MTSU and is 2 games ahead in the conference race. Win the series against FAU this upcoming weekend and it's pretty much over.

Did I see it right that ODU lost a 6 run lead in the 9th to lose to FAU?
