AAC versus SEC challenge according to Rothstein tweet.
He just tweeted it out. The teams will rotate it looks like I will play whomever the Big 12 doesn't get that year. Only for "select teams" in the AAC ----- So no East Carolina's03-wink

Yep, it's the four teams in the SEC finished in the bottom the previous season. So this looks like it will include only four AAC teams. I just want to look it up it's not rotational like I stated in the OP.

Edit - so is the sec-big 12 challenge rotational or not I'm reading conflicting things now. Anyone know for certain?

Is this basketball or football? I'm assuming basketball?

Since we finished 5th, do we not get to participate?

Well they said select teams and not the top four teams in the previous season so taking it literally I don't think that matters.

So Auburn did not play in the Big 12 challenge this season correct? If that's right this looks rotational and we could see some pretty good SEC teams.[/align]

Fwiw .. A poster on the UConn board said the next four SEC teams to be excluded in the Big 12 challenge rotation are Kentucky, Vanderbilt, Florida, and Ole Miss.

Maybe this is how the Memphis - Kentucky rumored game comes to fruition?

Of course they're saying the AAC board that next up are Auburn and LSU and two others. I'm not really sure how this works LOL

James Wiseman said this months ago:

Quote:One game that is sure to be circled on the calendar is the Kentucky game, and Wiseman said both he and D.J. Jeffries are looking forward to that matchup.

"That game is going to be fun. It's going to be high energy, a great battle with good players and both D.J. and I can't wait," Wiseman said. "We're definitely looking forward to that game for sure."

This means TV must love Memphis to set them up in this game with Kentucky if that is the case. Any of those games would be good. I would love a series with Florida. Something tells me that Penny will end up playing every former NBA player during his tenure.

Bowen mentioned this a couple of months ago in a weekly interview. I've been trying to find out more details since...think it almost fell through at one point. Aresco mentioned several upcoming scheduling arrangements in an interview re: the tv deal. Wonder who else may be out there.

Are you guys saying that Kentucky, Vanderbilt, Florida, and Ole Miss are excluded because those teams have regularly scheduled games against members of our conference?

No I think the SEC involvement with the Big 12-SEC challenge is on a rotational basis, so the teams not involved will be involved in a similar AAC-SEC challenge for more Quad 1 or Quad 2 wins.
