I'm typically conservative when it comes to UCF predictions, and in the past, it's served me well (except for last year of course :john: ). This year, with our improved coaching and conditioning, I'll say we beat nearly all our opponents who are not MACC contenders or BCS. I say "nearly" because we typically lose to someone we should beat. Perhaps this will change now with O'Leary. I also think the sun will shine on us one Saturday and we'll beat a favored team.

5-6 is my prediction. UW, WVU, PSU, NIU, MUg, and MUr are in the BCS/MACC catagory. UB, AKR, OU, BSU, and KSU are the opponents our improved team can hopefully beat. I'll assume we beat one of the first six teams mentioned above, and we lose to one of the later five.

I'd be ecstatic with a winning season, but I don't think this will be the year.

I'm saying 6-5, which includes a victory at home against West Virginia. Later on, I may change my prediction depending on how things go in fall practice.

I'm going with 4-7. I'm not sold yet on Moffett or the defense. One road win at Buffalo, and 3 home wins against Akron, Ohio, and Kent. This MAC schedule sucks. I can't wait to get into C-USA.

7-4 or 6-5 at best. The defense is still weak and the offense is unpredictable. If not for playing in the MAC, it could be worse.

Folks, lets be honest. If we have another losing season, then we wasted our money with O'Leary. Coach K could lead us to a losing season. That's not what we dished out that huge money for.

Come on, is this really too much to ask for? Out of both MU's, NIU, WVU, Penn State, and Wiscosin....you're telling me we can't muster just ONE win out of that group? Obviously, we SHOULD beat the low level MAC teams.

I've been hearing repeatedly how we're a "sleeping giant" and what great POTENTIAL we have. Well, great. Then do something about it. We're not asking for a top 25 ranking off the bat here, we're talking about a friggin winning season.

If we have a losing season, IMO, O'Leary was a huge waste of money.

When's the last time we actually beat a team with a winning record?

I had to check for myself, and not including FAU last year who's not IA, it was the fake Miami (11-23-02) who had a 7-5 record.

6-5 is certainly attainable, but we have issues with depth at a number of positions right now. Will we be ready to beat a Wisconsin, West Virginia, Penn State, or any top MAC team? George O'Leary and his staff have quite a task on their hands.

Like I said, we brought O'Leary in to win big games. Coach K mastered beating the crap teams and losing to every good team.

You can't write O'Leary off as a waste of money after one season. That's insane.

Why is it insane? I'm not talking about a top 25 ranking, I'm not talking about a MACC appearance. I am talking about a WINNING SEASON!!! Are you telling me that Marshall, Miami, and NIU are so far out in front of us? Are you telling me that PEnn State and WVU are totally unwinable?

We gave O'Leary big, big money. We expect big results. I understand we won't transform over one season, but I find a winning season to hardly be a "huge task".

If we're just going to put around the MAC again and rack up 4-5 meaningless wins, then I'd rather have coach K back. He could do the same thing for 3x less money.

O'Leary is getting paid to rebuild UCF Football into a successful program. Yes that means winning, but in order to do so, you have to give the guy time to recruit and right the wrongs that have been made in the recent past. He'll do what he can this year with what is really Kruczek's team. O'Leary will provide an immediate impact in team attitude and conditioning. THAT is what's gonna keep us from getting our asses whipped again by those low-level MAC teams you're brushing off. BTW, those "weak" MAC teams will improve this year.

A winning season IS attainable, but if we don't make it, O'Leary hardly deserves to called a waste of money. Yes, Kruczek can also provide us with a losing season, but I'd take a rebuilding team under O'Leary over a stagnant team under Kruczek any day.

Dude, it has only been 1/2 a year of O'Leary, if we lose a few games, it isn't "all" his fault!!!!!!!!! Some is his and some is the past crew..... you have to deal with some of the recruits that K brought in, George couldn't cut everyone and bring in all new players! He will be worth the money but you can't expect a perfect record !!!!! come on now!!!!!!!

1-3 years from last year we will have a VERY respectable team and will beat a lot of team other than the usuals.....

Go Knights 04-cheers

Here is my problem. I've given up trying to predict success for this football team. Every year I try to get my non-UCF friends on the "bandgwagon", preaching what a good team we could have....they fall flat on their face.

We have a decent sports program, but not one UCF team has EVER won a "big game". What I'm talking about is an NCAA basketball game, a regional title in baseball, or a top 25 team in football.

Now, it seems as though our football team is to the point that we can't even realistically ask for a winning season? I'm sorry, but if O'Leary can't muster a winning season next year, then I feel as though we wasted our money. NIU or Miami would be a "big win". I'm not asking for us to beat Florida or USC, just NIU!!!!

I view UCF as the biggest underachieving program in the country right now. Until we actually earn something on the field, it will be tough for me to be optimistic about our football team, or our athletic program in general.

As long as GO has this team ready in time to beat the living crap outta USF in 2005. :chair: IMO That would be the most embarrassing loss in school history. We just can't let that happen! 03-pissed I think next year is a rebuilding year, I don't expect a miracle to immediately happen but I wouldnt be surprised if we actually attain a winning record. I think that we can actually beat NIU - WVU & Wisconsin might be a far cry - but you must believe we can overcome these obstacles. Don't preach it to your friends, believe it and feel it inside my young paduon, and when we do come out as this behemoth in the future, be sure to proudly hold your head up and praise this team, and rub it in the faces of those jacka$$es at USF!!

Not to give the Steers any credit- but if we played them last year, we would have lost by 25 points.

Lets hope we find a decent team by 2005.
