Surprised it is just on ESPN3, not on a regular channel.

Go Tigers!

Thoughts on the crowd? Any idea of what attendance would be?

Attendance will be 11 to 14k which will be the best or second best NIT crowd of the year

Don't know about that attendance number. As of now, looking like the terrace will be empty. Thousands of season ticket holders didn't buy tickets.

This game will not draw more than last Saturday. I've been to most (maybe all since the 70s) NIT games in Memphis since the coliseum. Just not well attended games. No time to plan, not the NCAAs, spent all that money on the conference tournament, and on and on and on. It is what it is.

The article states a 5pm start time. The start time in Memphis is 7pm. 03-wink

I do not expect a good crowd tonight. I am disappointed that many season ticket holders in the Plaza level did not buy tickets for tonight's game. On the bright side, it allowed me to buy a ticket with a mid-court and close view.

Well hopefully more good tourney fans like yourself will buy them up. The problem with our lower level season tickets are that a good many are companies that have the money to pay the big donations needed to get them but then do not always put out the effort to get them used. Next to mine are Pepsi and they are either empty or random people in them for the bigger games. So I am sure when NIT comes they say nah. Conference tourney wasn't huge numbers but it was the loud die hard fan that come to actually cheer and get into the game.

We'll easily have 9-10K for a meaningless basketball game against a team we've never heard of on 2 days notice. And people are complaining? GTFOH.

GTFTTF. you mean

I like what they say about us in San Diego:

https://www.sandiegouniontribune.com/spo...story.html

USD, which was stunned even to receive a bid to the NIT, traveled Monday to Tennessee and Tuesday faces a first-round game against Memphis.

The Tigers, coached by former NBA All-Star Penny Hardaway, are 21-13 this season, including 15-2 at home where they lost only to a pair of NCAA Tournament teams, Tennessee and Cincinnati. They were 11-7 in the American Athletic Conference and then blew out Central Florida — which is also in the NCAA Tournament — in the conference tournament before losing by just three points to regular-season champ Houston in the semifinals. They also defeated two additional tournament teams, Temple and Yale, during the regular season.
